OH has two pairs of shorts, one of which are really trousers with detachable legs. That pair look quite good on him due to the fit, the other reminds me of Boy Scouts baggy shorts.

The children have educated him to take his socks off if he's wearing sandals, but still cringe over socks, trainers and shorts. There's been recent comments over the age & style of his trainers, not that they look tatty. What's the problem if they are 10 years old? :-S

My OH went into shorts in late April and it'll be November/December before he's back in trousers. He wears nice looking shorts and his legs are good.

BUT
There are times when I want to hide when I see some of the tourists. The other day we were eating out when a couple of tourists arrived. They were English and we nearly choked on our meals (all 6 of us)

He was in a long sleeve, brown striped shirt, dark blue, quite short, shorts, shirt tucked in. Mid calf length black socks and black leather brogues. It was low 30s C. :-S

DH wears shorts when he plays golf, with golf shoes & ankle socks....

So when he wears shorts & sandals, he looks like he's wearing white socks :-D

He's a Neapolitan Man........... white bits, pink bits & brown bits. I'm sure you can work out which bits are which colour.

Put a little boogie in it.

PH, I was taught, many years ago when people still used hankies, that the only use for a clean one was as a dressing to stop bleeding from wounds :-D :-D :-D

So a not so clean one would make an ideal sunhat.

It would also ensure that no one invaded your personal space, a very important consideration on a crowded beach ;-) :-D :-D

Nuffink wrong with a knotted hankie Allan.

Just so long as it's a clean one!

We arrived in Oz in June 1982, and stayed with my brother in Perth until I found employment.

My sister-in-law had taken us to one of the local beaches and she was rugged up against the cold.

it was a sunny day, and I jokingly suggested that I'd better wear a knotted hankie for some sort of sun protection.

She thought that I was being serious and was mortified .

Happy days :-D :-D :-D

Coooeeee......Hello lovely Barry~~~~~~

Actually, you have just reminded me that I have a photo somewhere of my Granddad at the seaside, wearing a knotted hankie on his head.

The funny thing is, he is dressed in a three piece suit and tie to boot!

My family wus roight posh!!

Prickles, having seen this thread I must note to you that I have worn shorts for the last three months or so with our lovely weather.

I wore long trousers only one (Satur)day ... and that turned out to be very humid. Good old weather folk wrong again!
I do wear short white anklet socks with my white trainers ... Velcro tied / laced ... so there!
On the very rare occasion I wear sandals (not this year) I don't wear socks.

Thankfully, there isn't a hankie big enough to put over my head ... like our father's wore at the seaside eons ago.
Remember that?

I hate it when shorts are adjusted to go under the beer belly.

Due to the fact that my legs were swapped at birth :-| :-|........I wouldn't be seen dead in shorts.

I do like a man in shorts though......(As long as he is breathing! :-D) But a man in shorts with sandals and socks........

Absoluteleggie not! :-D :-D
