Thank you Robert.

That one opposite was very tempting and cheap but I don't think it will be the one.
Not one of us three would want to sleep in that top bunk

It looks like quite an interesting concept though. Is it there specifically for the football fans, the party-goers or workers?

We like Holiday Inns so that will probably be our choice.

University campus!

There are several Student accommodation blocks in close proximity to St James' Park.

Depends when you are coming.

We are booked into the Claude Gibbs accommodation for the night of 19th and the tour is 12.30 on 20th.

So, if you are looking to pick up a lone woman in a bar, it looks like my book and I will be in Nine from 12.0 to 1.30 because I would be as interested in touring the sewage works as I would a football stadium. More so actually.

Sharron if you choose to travel by rail there is THE STATION HOTEL

a stroll from St James Park.

Sharron

Sharron Report 27 May 2017 17:51

Yes, I did look at that one as well but, in student halls I will have my OWN little room and bed.

Can't wait.

Robert

Robert Report 27 May 2017 20:16

How will we recognise you?

Sharron

Sharron Report 27 May 2017 21:01

Lonely old biddy with a book and taking up too much room.

Still trying to picture the lonely old biddy with a book!!!

Caroline Report 29 May 2017 11:35

Maybe we should all guess what the book might be.....I'm guessing some sort of history book.

Robert

Robert Report 29 May 2017 12:39

Or maybe 50 Shades???

Sharron

Sharron Report 29 May 2017 13:02

My hair is the fifty shades of grey. The book will be something nobody else would want to read you can be sure, medieval shipping probably.

Really can't imagine why I would be on my own.

Premier Inns are brilliant. Reasonably priced, although this may vary re location and whats on nearby. They do a fantastic breakfast you can book this with your room or pay separately for it at reception.

**** Sorry I didn't look at page 2 before I posted. Pleased you have got sorted

We like Holiday Inns breakfasts better.

I think it was Runcorn we particularly liked on one occasion.

Sharron,

Been on the Stadium tour - it was brilliant.
Fred's mate will be impressed.
It is a magnificent Stadium.

Sharron

Sharron Report 8 Jun 2017 12:43

Oh I am pleased.

They have done Wembley and loved that so I hope this one is as good.

Do you get any souvenirs with the tour?

Robert

Robert Report 8 Jun 2017 14:19

St James' Park is BETTER than Wembley.

My tour was not the usual one. It was an evening tour which was organised by the Newcastle United Foundation which is the Charity arm of Newcastle United FC. I am involved with the Foundation as a Volunteer - refereeing Walking Football organised by the Foundation. There was also a Celebration to thank the Volunteers and we had food in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite.

You better come in the pub when we are there then. Fred's mate will be very pleased to meet you.

What is the food like in that pub anyway?

Robert

Robert Report 8 Jun 2017 15:35

Haven't been in "Nine" for a while but I believe the food is quite good.

It used to be called "Shearers".

Next time I'm passing I'll have a look at the menu.
