What are you looking for and where were they born?

Robert

Robert Report 9 Mar 2009 23:50

Looking to confirm Arthur's wife's name and any ancestors (either Arthurs or his wife's)

And confirm birth dates of children if possible? and any marriages.

Thanks

JenW

JenW Report 9 Mar 2009 23:53

And born where? We need more information

Ozibird

Ozibird Report 10 Mar 2009 00:00

Did you get this info off the marriage cert? What was Arthur's occupation?

Robert

Robert Report 10 Mar 2009 00:05

Unfortunatly that is about all I know. Phyllis May Draper is the only one that I know was born in Wales. But I don't know of the town . I would suppose that the Arthur would have been born in Wales also. As for the other children I would only be able to guess Wales also.

Robert

Robert Report 10 Mar 2009 00:08

Yes it is. It has Arthur's profession as General Labourer

Ozibird

Ozibird Report 10 Mar 2009 00:13

So how do you know it's Phyllis May & not Phyllis Marjorie?

Robert

Robert Report 10 Mar 2009 00:19

On the marriage certificate it is listed as May. A few people here did some searches and found a few census that listed a Phyllis Marjorie and we thought that might be correct.

If it helps at all the original post was called "Trying to find more of my fathers family"

EvieBeavie Report 10 Mar 2009 00:29

What actually helps, Robert, is not starting new threads about something that has already been worked on, and expecting people to go fetch the information for themselves.

Posts can't be found by name. They can be found on a search for content, or gone to directly if you give the URL for them.

Here is a list of threads with the words Peter Coyne in them.

There probably wasn't any need for any more than one thread -- that being the basis of the one thread per topic rule here.

Nobody spends all their time here so as to see every thread posted, and nobody keeps strangers' complicated family stories in their heads so as to recall them from one week to the next.

Ozibird

is the one Robert is referring to above.

Robert Report 10 Mar 2009 00:43

I was told no one looks at old threads, if I dont reply right away they get passed over, so that is why I started a new one. Wasn't trying to cause a problem.

Back to the original question.

Where is the Children info (names and DOBs) coming from? What is "Rome" Draper? Not a name, surely. No birth for that name in the GRO.

You can't identify one of the children's births to order a birth certificate, is that the problem?

EvieBeavie

EvieBeavie Report 10 Mar 2009 01:32

The only entry in the GRO for Arthur Benjamin Draper:

Births Jun 1852
DRAPER Arthur Benjamin Walsall 6b 473

EvieBeavie

EvieBeavie Report 10 Mar 2009 01:34

An Arthur *George* Draper married (maybe) Eleanor Emma Patterson in 1899 in Medway.

Where is "(possibly) Eleanor A" coming from?

EvieBeavie

EvieBeavie Report 10 Mar 2009 02:00

A possible candidate in 1901?

Benjamin Draper 44
Sarah J Draper 44
Sidney C Draper 24
Alfred Draper 15
Clarice Draper 13
> Arthur S Draper 12
Beatrice Draper 8
Theadora E Draper 5 months

Births Jun 1889
Draper Arthur Samuel Cardiff 11a 277

If he married quite young. Father's name Benjamin, he might not have known his own middle name.

Robert

Robert Report 12 Mar 2009 14:05

All the info I have on sibling is from my dad. Except he can't remember birth dates or anything as he never had contact with his family from 1972 on.

I'm looking for birth dates so that hopefully I can find links through Genesreunited (names alone haven't connected to anyone one else's tree yet). Plus, personally I feel it'll help make the tree more complete.

My dad seems to think that his grand mothers name was Eleanor A something but he's not sure.

Rome is one of the son's names (I'm thinking it was short for Romeo or Roman, but dad said no).

EvieBeavie

EvieBeavie Report 12 Mar 2009 19:43

The only births for Rom* Draper:

Births Dec 1913
DRAPER Roma Woolley Derby 7b 1157
Births Sep 1933
Draper Roma D M Webb Saffron W 4a 1327

Girls, of course.

Hi Robert.
Always go to your original thread if you are needing more help. Adjust the title of the original thread by adding ( help still need) or (still looking).

This helps the research and also helps others see what has already been done
It also brings your old thread back to the top of the board
