Yes - very strange name. I couldn't find it in BMD - got the name from a baptism record when I visited Devon.

Thanks for all the info - I will spend tomorrow sorting through and trying to get my head around whos who - as you say so many named after father - makes it all the more fun I guess.

I'm goping to concentrate on Ernest John initially and see where that takes me. I have had a message today from someone who may be his great grand daughter which if accurate will be amazing.

Hi. I am trying to trace my family tree (SEDGBEER). I have a couple of Ernest in mine, But my family are mainly from devon. not sure if this is any help?

Emily Reed and her family are all from Devon - Torrington and surrounding areas - so may be possibility of link.
