OK. I may be getting somewhere now! Found Louisa's parents with her eldest child - George Clark (known as Harry) in 1911. So where is Louisa and 8 year old Robert?? |

Hi - sorry have been out today so didn't see you reply. Yes, as far as I know Rose's birth certificate gives Stephen David as the father and Louisa (maiden name Arnold) as the mother. Unfortunately, Mum is away at the moment and she has it in her files - I only have my written notes. I do remember thinking that the address was a familiar one which somehow confirmed it was indeed my Great Aunt Rose (but the marriage record I found Louisa Clark to Stephen David seemed to confirm it but I am now begining to have my doubts. |

If the 1911 census posted is the correct one, and Mr Clark had a middle name then I can't see an obvious death for him either! Had a quick look on the National Archives website and don't see a divorce for him and Louisa either!! |

Yes I thought she should be under David, but my sister married twice on 2nd marriage she used our family name not ex husband's name. |

Have you found a death for Stephen between Rose's birth and Louisa's remarriage? |

The Robert Clark she married in 1896 was Robert H, his father was Henry Hutchinson Clark. |

Just re-read my original post and don't want to confuse. I have found Louisa, Robert Clark (first husband) and George on 1901. Obviously Robert (1903) wasn't there(!). I can't find any of them on 1911. |

It is that record that indicated Rose was not a Clark but a DAVID. |
