Rootgatherer, Thanks for that, I must be stupid I did not even think of a remarriage even though she would be in her late 20s early 30s.Seemingly Thomas kept the Carswell name also William the youngest child but of Mary I do not know. it was in my mind that she possibly emigrated with the Corrie family or the Carswells who went to Canada. Ian Carswell
