Where we are related I have all the births marriages and deaths of all the siblings one of them going to Australia which Gins found for me and no one else has this info but why should I share?? I dont copy anyone elses's info...mainly because I would'nt trust it to be correct anyway.

There are a couple of people I would invite to look who share the same gt grandparents but they would'nt be interested in this side anyway

I made a 2nd correction to a census on FMP because they did not amend it the 1st time.
As it is a person who is on the image and not on the transcription I obviously had to put in her fathers name to get to the image to amend it.
Recieved an email but no mention of her name just the father aghhh
Looks like it is going to be ignored again...wait and see

As it is ex husbands grandmother I am not that fussed but surely they should read the comments...I hate these computer replies

strange

wonder why you're losing posts?

I've heard from others that fmp does not seem to be that good on making alterations.

I have sent in alterations to both freebmd and ancestry, and most of them seem to go through ......... or else, I just can't remember what changes I've suggested!

Most of them recently have not been "mine" ........... they are errors (usually mistranscriptions or ages) that I've found when I've been helping other people.

Ancestry seem to be ok but I have never come accross one that is on the census but not on the transcription like this one.
When I first started looking for her I thought she must have left home as she was 18 and if I had not had a sub to the site I would not have paid £3 to look at the image.

I spoke to FMP on FB and they said submit again so I shall give it a month to see if they do add it.

I know I did submit a transcription error for my own family but cant remember what census it was now and I am sure they hav'nt acknowledged it...must go and have a look

Well they have changed the head of the household but not the spelling I gave...do they not understand I know how to spell my maiden name?

So the fathers name begins with a "V" and wife and kids with a "D" I am not going to send them four more amendments :-(

On A it gives you an option to tick and change all the names of the household when you add a correction.....

Is this not an option on FMP?

A are very good at making the additions to corrections and always email me to let me know

Thanks

jax Report 6 May 2011 04:47

Yeah A are fine they do them all but unless I did something wrong on FMP I cant see why they have not done them all

Maybe one of the others know

If it is just a computer amending them then they are not going to see the rest of the family have a different name

You lot ate it all yesterday :P

All the cereals are out, porridge is bubbling away...............

Sausages, scrambled eggs, black pudding, fried bread, all under the warmers - did you not lift the lids?????????? - You need to have 'everything' done for you - lazy lot!!

Just doing the bacon now.

Crumpets, croisants, toast + jellies, jams and marmite on the side.

Going to look at some cookers today so hopefully I will not have to use this one for too much longer

When you send in a transcript error to FMP they will only look at the transcript against what is on the image for that bit only!
When I got back the reply to say that they were not changing the transcript to add Mr Davies wife Gwen and 4 children to his household that were so obviously on the original and that the servants listed were in the next house/farm they said it was a different dept for that and they handed it on....
Wife Gwen and kids were added.....Took a couple of emails though(which they replied to promptly) and I had to send them the refs etc for the right bod to look at it.....Keep at em to add your lot on the transcript....I especially pointed out that Ancestry had it all correct on their transcript..;)

I am a happy bunny too !!!

Just bought my new Neff electric double oven :D :D :D

Anyone want to buy a 1 yr old gas double oven ???

I don't know what to do with it now - I suppose I can't really 'bin it'. - It was VERY expensive and is still 'only a baby' ???

Dea x

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 6 May 2011 13:17

Don't bin it yet Dea.....it may be worth making a few enquiries re the local Salvation Army or Help the Aged. Not sure how they handle gas appliances but it would be a shame to ditch it. It could be that someone would be very grateful for it.

Have you thought of advertising it for sale?
