the Santa Claus Parade here announced a change in its route on Nov 1

a major area is usually at the plaza in front of the Art Gallery, a lot of food and money for the Food Bank is raised at that site.

That's where Occupy Vancouver was ensconced.

They've gone now, due to a BC Supreme Court injunction ................... but the organizers of the Parade said they had to make an early decision

Samoa manager fined 100 pigs for WCup misbehaviour

The Associated Press 22/11/2011 7:06:00 PM

WELLINGTON, New Zealand - The manager of Samoa's World Cup rugby team has been fined 100 pigs for disgracing his village and discrediting his chiefly title at the tournament last month.

Tuala Mattew Vaea was fined 100 sows, valued at around US$2,500, by the elders of his home village of Leauva'a after Samoa captain Mahonri Schwalger criticized his behaviour in a letter to Prime Minister Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi.

Leauva'a village chief Sala Lose confirmed the fine, saying the allegations made by Schwalger against the team manager had tarnished Vaea's chiefly rank and the village's reputation. It is expected Vaea will discharge the largely symbolic penalty by paying a lesser monetary fine to the village council.
.

.
Prime Minister Malielegaoi told the Samoa Observer he had personally observed the behaviour of team officials.

"Some who are mentioned in the report have a habit we call in Samoa 'faapio le kulilima' (bending the elbow)," he said. "I was invited to the VIP area on the night of the Springbok game and I witnessed the truth."

Cynthia - was your community service coming on this thread? I take my hat off to you if it was - that is enough to strengthen anyone's resolve and character!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear that you have been 'released' - are you staying with us out of 'sympathy' after what you have heard etc????? It may be that we need A Good Samaritan on this thread!!!!

I would welcome a 'guide' for this thread as some [who shall remain nameless] do tend to take advantage! Too much mention of sex and satisfaction for me!!! lol

The Community Service Fans was referring to was my voluntary work............and, of course, extracting the Michael is part and parcel of this thread.
