Dea,

Socks are interchangeable and I find that having a hole in them is most useful as without a hole you would never be able to get your foot inside. Having more than one hole in a sock however can be a disadvantage as this can lead to draughty feet and your toes often fall out of the sock at the opposite end of the sock from where your leg is inserted.

A tip if you wish to avoid having your toes fall out of your socks is either remember to cut your toenails at regular intervals or to give up wearing socks altogether which offers a permanent solution to the problem.

Another tip is to never just buy only one pair of identical socks. If you buy two pairs of identical socks then even if a hole appears in one of the socks you still have two pairs of serviceable unholy socks left to wear whenever you feel the need. How good is that?

Finally always remember that only dirty people have a wash.

I followed that 'tip' of yours last year Jonesey and bought two packs, each containing 6 pairs of plain black socks - that way, I clevery thought that I wouldn't have to spend ages teaming them up when I washed them.

Unfortunately, when you are not wearing them, they all look identical, same stitching at the top etc and same length, BUT, when you put them on, it would appear that one pack must have been slightly shorter than the other as it is only noticeable when you put them on that one sock is about an inch longer than the other.

I now have 12 pairs of socks, each with one long one and one short one and occasionally I get it right and they both match up :-D :-D :-S

I just hope I never get 'run over' !

P.S. Renes - I think you will discover that you have at sometime in the past searched for or looked at some kind of slimming product or diet details on line?

When you do this it leaves a cookie thingie and so you get all the adverts on various pages linking in with what you have looked at.

Before Christmas I was looking at scooters for my grand-daughter's present and since then I get all sorts of adverts etc relating to them.

It happens with everything I search for.

Are you sure you dont have one leg longer than the other Dea ;-)

And didnt yer mother tell yer, its not yer socks you have to worry about if you get knocked down!

Dea

Dea Report 23 Mar 2012 22:15

I think that it is a scientific fact that we all have one leg longer than the other Gins (maybe only by a tiny fraction of an inch in most cases, but the fact remains!).

With regard to your other comment - yes, my mother did tell me that and I always wear kleeen kerkni##ers !!

Note to self: Post a light breakfast around 6am Brits time>>>

Toast (sourdough, rye, white, whole grain, 100% brown, Hovis, gluten free), crumpets, golden syrup, raspberry Jam, gooseberry Jelly or Pohutukawa Honey.

If you are very hungry I have made some bacon, brocolli and quinoa fritters and have left bacon out of some of them for Gins.
There are pumpkin and feta scones, and some blinis with ham in them and scrambled egg on top to tide you over.

There will be no Marmite... NZ has a shortage of Marmite and all the supermarket shelves are empty however there is vegemite or peanut butter.

Tea, coffee, juices

(The hidey place is void of bacon etc as I have been using up all sorts for brunch)

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 24 Mar 2012 07:51

Thank you Persie.............I have my own store of Marmite but I will sample your fitters please.

If we have all these bodyparts which are of unequal size, it makes me wonder why we don't all walk with a limp to balance ourselves up. :-S

It is supposed to be a warm weekend looming........so, we will get out our lighter clothes and sandals then, before you know it, it will be freezing cold again. :-(

I checked our gas/electric bill online and was delighted to discover that we have a fairly healthy credit.............may be asking for a proportion of that to be refunded now that Summer is looming....... :-D

Hope Sylvs has a good time doing whatever she is doing.......

Good morning Persie!

Well, if you have emptied out my 'hidey-hole' I suppose I will have to try the bacon, brocolli and quinoa fritters :-(

I googled 'quinoa' and it doesn't look 'too' bad.........

Actually - they are rather nice :-)

I had some blinis with ham in them and scrambled egg on top too and they were delicious !

I am looking forward to those special treats that you have used up all the bacon in for brunch!

Thank you Persie <3
