I used to have a cleaning lady who loved ironing.

We used to have take any possible ironing from the clothes line in the basement or she would iron them

......... including OH's underwear!

It got too much the day we came home and found she had ironed the all but worn out underwear he'd been using when gardening!

After that, I would make sure there were 3 or 4 of OH's shirts that could ironed, and left them hanging on a rail near the kitchen!

I hate the way some clothes slide off the ironing board... my mother did far more ironing that I have ever done.. well if you could call what she did ironing.

She didn't like ironing boards so would iron on the kitchen table... it had a blanket on it and then an old sheet and then she would iron with a heavy iron. She would bash the pillow cases into submission.. if they didn't end up with the crisp creases in the right places watch out. She was ironing upstairs and OH and I were downstairs in the garage and he heard all this banging (I took no notice) he went running up the stairs to see what was wrong.

And then there was this bottle of water that had to get shaken on things if they were too crumpled. Really was wash, bang and wear.

P xx who can make pate..

Many years ago when I was suffering from a slipped disc which gave me sciatica and I was lying prostrate on the couch my OH had to do the ironing he made the mistake of saying that he didnt know why I complained about ironing as he found it very therauputic he still does some after all who am I to interfere with his tehrapy ;-)

Thank you Sylvs...Ulster fry up sounds just the thing to start the day.

Linda - I'm with your OH.......ironing is great therapy. You can take frustrations out on awkward creases or simply glide along the seams of a skirt in a trance.......

Iron underwear? Of course I iron underwear! Good heaven's do you think I am going to send OH out in crinkled cotton? He may get knocked down by a bus! He always compliments me and says the whiteness is blinding him then he folds them neatly and puts them away.

Sheets? Yes.
Shirts? Yes.
T.shirts? Yes.

Skirts? Yes.
Trousers? Yes.

Socks, bras, dusters, facecloths, towels. No.

Bye Wall ~~~~~~~~ you have obviously reached your 'boundaries' and need to 'partition' yourself. I hope you 'retain' your sense of humour and do not develop too many cracks in your 'facade'.
