Jax without his wheelchair my OH would not have been able to go on the Great Wall of China or explored the Forbidden City. He wheelchair has given him a new lease of life and I am positive it will give you one too

jax Report 25 Jan 2011 23:31

I hope it does Toots. Its just the little things you used to take for granted, like catching a train up to London and the like which would be impossible for the walking and s lot trains don't accept scooters or going into smaller shops to look for clothes and things.

Maybe my arm will get stronger if I use it more...you never know

Jax--

Yes they may have a circle event

and I would be there cheering for you Jax

Oh I do hope the chair works for you --- you will have to sort out a routine to

practise -- and next time I come to UK I will take you out shopping ---

promise

Dont worry I will get you on a train --- saw the guards putting in ramps for

several people to use -- suppose you book them when you book tickets

So very pleased for you --

Good luck tomorrow -- get to bed and sleep

you should even be able to ride the buses, wouldn't you?

All our transit is wheelchair accessible, and we even have special taxis that take wheelchairs when neeeded.

Vancouver is in fact one of the most accessible cities in the world ........ almost all street corners now are ramped, and they are quickly changing the ones that are not.

It also has the side effect that moms with strollers have an easier time.

Thanks Renes to early for bed appointment not until 2p.m anyway.

That FB person is really annoying me now think she is talking out of her backside. She wont pay to use this site but is quite happy to employ someone who says he is a pro who she does'nt know from Adam

I can only take so much

Plus the fact that she's not always giving good advice

I dont think she knows what she is talking about really.

Think I may just ignore her instead........or

Then advertise that I'm an expert professional geneoligist then that will be ok lol

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 26 Jan 2011 01:36

lol!

I did add something to where she was telling someone she would look up Titanic lists, and basically saying she knew she could find this person's relation.

I found a site she hand't mentioned :))))))

we're all now expert genealogists ................. after working these boards for a couple of months!

The devil in me think I should as the pro for his qualifications as it seems that researching ones tree and a for friends is enough. Surely a pro would use more than free sites? And be a member of S.O.G. to access their records.

Jax not everywhere is wheelchair friendly but things are definitely improving. It has given him a bit of independence back. Oh and if you haven't already get some gloves to protect your hands when you propel yourself along. OH didn't at first and made his hands sore

jax

jax Report 26 Jan 2011 04:21

I wonder what reply he will give Toots? Sounds like he is touting for business to me.

I doubt if I will be self propelling much but yes gloves sound like a good idea

SylviaInCanada Report 26 Jan 2011 04:25

that is amusing!

who're you talking about now??

TootyFruity

TootyFruity Report 26 Jan 2011 04:27

Ive just asked him what qualifications are needed to be a pro and whether or not you need to be a member of a society on a par with a doctor being registered with the BMA. I think he's toting for business too.

Great Ja..x

thank you!

does it by any chance say whether there was 1 dead child?

They seem to have had a John Owen Hughes b. 1900 on the 1901 ... I had no record of a John, and freebmd has a record of a John Owen dying in 1906, age 6.

EDIT:- you've answered my question!
