Find Ancestors

Hi,
I am trying desperately to find my grandparents, all i have is the surname. My grandfathers name is Wilfred Lovegrove but thats all i have,he married my grandmother Elsie may Humphries.
My grandfarther was born in 1910 died 1972.
All help to find my grandparents will be greatly appriciated as i haven't had any luck.

OK the confusion seems to be that his father Peter E Lovegrove was actually born and registered as Peter E Swimbourne mother's maiden name Humphries. On his marriage registration it says Lovegrove or Swimbourne.

So this has to be him in 1911. Says Solihull on the original. Mother Sarah Elizabeth has been married for 13 years and had 2 children both living. So where does the Swinbourne come from. Unless Wilfred wasn't her husband's child!

Could it be that Robert has posted this on the wretched SURNAME board, and hasn't noticed that the name SWINBOURNE didn't appear in his message.

Why don't people check their messages AFTER they submit them?

I cannot understand why Robert did not actually read the replies that were posted........surely he would then have realised that in the early stages, we were looking for the name LOVEGROVE!!!

He wasn't sure of the Swimbourne connection himself so it's very doubtful. As far as he was concerned the name was Lovegrove.
I think it is just a case of someone who is very new and didn't know how much information to give.
