Hi, can anyone find Emily Violet Wilkinson, who would be living with her parents in any census before and including the 1911 census. She would have been living in Northumberland, probably Morpeth. She was married in Dec 1911. She married John Phillipson Bell, but thats another line I have’nt looked into yet. This is a new line I have sent for four certs to confirm names, but will have to wait for them to arrive. I dont have any census records for them yet. Any help welcome |

hi Ann and Glitter baby, yes you have John Philipson Bell in 1911, thats great, could you find the time to look for him in earlier census, I had'nt intended to look at his line tonight but as you found him in 1911 it should be easier to find him in other census. His name was John Philipson Bell. |

hi glitter baby, it looks like him, only thing is his birthplace is choppington in other census its bedlington, but I suppose they are next door to each other so its not so unusual for the birthplace to be a bit off. have you had any luck with the marriage of his parents, I cant find it on the LDS or free BMD |

Hi, I am looking for the birth ref for Robert bell, in census he gives his birth year as 1865 except for 1881 when he was said to be born 1864. There are a few certs I could send for but would rather not pay £10 for a wrong cert. If anyone can help finding what they think is the right one I would be grateful. I have what looks like him with his family in 1881, I will post it at the end. I anyone can find the family in 1871 it might help. In 1881 his mother was called Isabella Bell she was then a widow, her husband may have still been alive in 1871/61 so them census could prove usefull, any help wellcome |

Kathleen, I don't think the people on the census gave their birth year to the enumerator -I believe they would have given their age at the time. The enumerator would then work out the birth year from that, which accounts for the variations we see. |

Hi Anne, thanks for the census, yes it is odd, but I suppose it happened! I wonder does she say she is a widow in 1871. If you could find her in 1861 we still might get her husbands name. |
