I am trying to find Army Records for James Morrison McLean his birth was registered as 3/6/1896 at Dreghorn, Ayrshire (my great-uncle)

I believe that he that he served in HMF during WW1and was killed. I have had a look on CWGC site, but there are too many J McLeans with age unknown to know which is the one I am looking for.

Can any kind person help?

Kind regards
Archie

Is he remembered on the Dreghorn war memorial? If so, it might give his regiment, which would cut down the number of possibles.

MarionfromScotland and Potty

Thank you both. I would say that the Kilwinning one is my James as his half-sister (my granny) was born in Kilwinning and his parents were married in Kilwinning. The family later moved to Dalserf (Larkhall) and it was very likely that he was resident there when he enlisted.

Your help is much appreciated.

hi Archie.

Sorry dont see any of them.Of couse they maybe had their own family plot out with Larkhall.
If there are any other names through marriage ie Jessi Lillias or Margaret. They could be there.

Let me know if you want me to check for any names.
