Hi All

The mystery still goes on.

I found Jane, or to give her full name, Mary Jane. She is on the 1911 census as living in Bath as maid to the wife of a previous employer so she was not in St Albans at that time.

I am going to have a look though the electoral rolls between 1911 -1936 (when she died) and see if she is about

Regards

Chrissey :-)

Chrissey, electoral registers at the time are searchable by address only. Before 1919 not very useful to most of us. Remember she would only get the vote in 1919 (if over 30), and 1929 if over 21.

Hi Jan

Thanks for the info. Fortunately, this lady was in her early 70's by 1919.

I was going to get her death certificate and see where she was living at the time and then look back from 1936 to see how long she was there and with whom as I am not aware of any blood relatives in the area

Regards

Chrissey
