Find Ancestors

Hi, I'm new to Genes Reunited and trying to find out about my paternal grandmother and her ancestors. Her name is Muriel Burrows, born 1901 (I think), but I cannot find a single reference to her in any of the records accept the marriage ones. She died in 1938, when my father was two years old, and he was separated from most of his family after that.
My Dad has had a stroke so cannot communicate, so I cannot ask him for more details.
Why is it that she does not appear in the records? She was def born, and spent almost all her life, in this country (the UK).

And if you have her marriage certificate, what is the name of her father, please? (so I can look in 1901 and 1911 census for her).

There is a Muriel Burrows born in March quarter 1900 in the district of Bashord. Vol 7B page 275.

Hello Heather, I note you say she spent "almost all" her life in the UK.

Does that mean that she may have been born or lived elsewhere?

Could you clarify if Burrows was her married or maiden name.

looking at the births which may be Heather's father we're looking Birkenhead? i'd plump for ozibird's marriage

In view of Heather's name, that isn't in doubt

I WAS trying to be tactful, since we do not know Heather's father's name...and he is living.

I was suggesting it as more likely a Lancs' connection than Newcastle...which I'd already looked at and discounted. MUST type faster!

I shall await Heather's return before searching :-)

Laurence/Lawrence was born in 1905. Was Muriel really around 34 when she first married?
