Can someone please have a look for William Thornes in the 1841 census i am going around in circles looking for him.

I have a death cert for him in November 1841 aged 56 so birth year would be around 1785. He died in Birmingham Warwickshire his occupation is a shoe maker the informant is his wife Hannah Thornes.

The surname is also known as Thorn/e/s.

What did he die of if it was consumption he may have died in a hospital in a workhouse, and for info 1861 census shows Hannah Thornes a cook at the Temperance Hotel Paradise Street Birmingham.

Thank you he died of dropsy it dont say he died in a workhouse i cant make out the address but think its great russell street.

Do you know if Hannah was born in Warwickshire please?

Do you know any of the names of his children please?

On the 1861 she is down as Hannah Thomas ( cook) unfortunately does not give place of birth.

Hannah was born in Staffordshire in 1786.

Children i believe are.

Edwin 1812 born Staffordshire living in Birmingham in 1841 under name Thorns
George 1817 born East indies living in Birmingham in1841 under name Thorne
Alfred 1820 born East Indies living in Birmingham in 1841 under name Thorn
Elizabeth not sure were she was born but living with Edwin in the 1841 census she married now Elizabeth Moore.
Ephraim born 1826 living in Staffiordhire in 1841 under the name of Thorup.

Hi Vera thank you for that in the 1851 she is down as Thomas as well born Staffordshire with son Ephraim living in Leicester but back in Birmingham by 1861 census.
