Do you know the person who has corrected the name in 1891 at Ancestry?

Name: Hace Hopkins
[Isaac Hopkins]
Age: 49
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1842
Relation: Head
Spouse's Name: Jane Hopkins
Where born: Nk, Bedfordshire, England

Civil parish: Cockfield
Town: Cockfield
County/Island: Durham

Hace Hopkins 49
Jane Hopkins 44
Joseph William Hopkins 17
John Hopkins 13
Frederick Hopkins 13
Thomas Hopkins 10
Harriet Emma Hopkins 8
George Hopkins 6

(Where's Isaac?)

Just looking for brothers' names. There's no matching Joseph, Thomas or George in Canadian WWI deaths, so the brother who died in WWI must have been in the UK military. That makes sense, as that's why it would mention next of kin being in Canada.

I was a little unclear there, wasn't I?

What I meant was that it might be worth getting in touch with the person who has corrected the name, as they're more than likely related. ;)

And you're so right -- Isaac is on the original!

Oh, look how ridiculous. Ancestry has hived these people off into a separate household. Sarah Ann, aged 4, is "daughter" ... not "Captain". Ye gods.

Name: Isaac Hopkins
[Isaac Jones] (added by the Ancestry system)
Age: 2
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1889
Relation: Son
Mother's name: Sarah Ane Hopkins
Where born: Durham, England

Civil parish: Cockfield
County/Island: Durham

Sarah Ane Hopkins 4
Isaac Hopkins 2
Herbert Beatcham 20 - son-in-law
John George Jones 24
Jane Hopkins 21 - wife - it says Jones (same user has corrected)
Elisa Hotkin Hopkins 1 - it says Jones

What an insane dog's breakfast. I still don't know why I couldn't find Isaac Hopkins on a search for him!
