Quite likely the aunt was Mary Jane Hitchens Maddern's aunt, just recorded as the head of household's aunt for convenience. "Aunt-in-law". ;-) |

Yes, Janey. I was indeed thinking the same thing, just slower! Too late for me at this time of night to think too quickly. I did also notice that there is a place in Cornwall or district called Madron. Perhaps there is also a link there?! However, although I'd like a little background on Richard I'd also like to trace them forward if it is possible. I've never had to do any NZ research and don't know if they've kept traceable records etc. |
