Clifford Evan Thomas born Apr 1912 - mother maiden name NORTH
Ivor William Thomas born Sep 1914 - mother maiden name YARD
Inez Irene Thomas born Oct 1917 - mother maiden name YARD

All children born in Pontypridd and all are now deceased

I can find a marriage -
June 1911 Henry H Thomas to Emma Yard

What i could not find was anything that links NORTH to the mix.

However after some sleuthing I have found the following -

BIRTH - APR - JUN 1887
Yard Emma Yard N
Birth registered in Chard

I also found a marriage Oct-Nov 1887
Charles North to Elizabeth Yard

I have found the family on the following census returns incl Emma/Emily -

1891 Census
RG12 Piece 1892 Folio 42 Page 17

1901 Census
RG13 Piece 2281 Folio 50 Page 15

1911 Census I have found Lucy May North (Emma's sister) in Bridgend,Glamorganshire.

I need to find Emma/Emily Yard/North in Wales on 1911 census before she marries Henry H Thomas in Pontypridd.

At the moment I know nothing about the Thomas' from Pontypridd so can offer no clues

Yes brummiejan, I was and I have ordered that today - I know it will say Henry H Thomas and Emma Yard tho .

In my impatience I am really interested in trying to finedEmma on the census having found so much info out this afternoon.

If you think that this is a pointless exercise, should I delete this thread?

No, don't do that! But I remember looking for this person without success.

You have put so much it's worth leaving then reviving the thread when you get the cert - assuming no-one cracks the case in the meantime!

Also they were Emma and Lucy were born in Buckland St Mary, however this is misspelt on any census returns I have found them on.

On the 1911 one Lucy is domestic servant to the Dawkins family and the place of birth is described as Bucklanton St Mary Somerset

Emma Thomas 22 married b Taunton
married under 1 year ( this could have been a fib)
They are lodgers with

William Hooper 33 b Hereford ........a miner and his wife ...............Cora 37 b Radnor Knighton

just chucking it into the mix

too much of a coincidence ? Buckland St Mary is 8m south of Taunton

Update ..

I have just found a letter from my mother's cousin and also
my grandparents marriage certificate. Ivor's father is Henry Herbert Thomas

Henry Herbert Thomas was born in Taunton and moved to Wales around 1910 to work as a miner. He had two sisters Gladys and Mabel.

Emma Thomas died in 1964 in Taunton

Cora H Thomas and Francis Roswell Thomas were cousins that married in Dec 1937- how would I find out where Roswell Thomas fits into the family?

Cora was born 1911 and Francis was born 1896
