Find Ancestors

My uncle wants to trace his own grandmother, the only info I have is she had a daughter called Emily born in Melk sham , Wiltshire who married a Watts .
Name - Mary Furser Grundy He seems to think that she was born in Scotland . I asked if it could have been fraser he seems adament that this is the name. He is not sure if this is her married name or not , he is 85 and a little confused, but I said I would try, I have been unable to find anything !
Any help would be appreciated.

Denise, might be better to work backwards starting with what you know. Such as exactly who Emily married and when?

Approx when was Emily born??

It might be easiest to start with your uncle's own birth certificate to see what his mother's maiden name is and then look for her marriage and work backwards from there.

If she was born in Scotland then I don't think registration began there until 1855.

Denise, where was George b1895 born? Have you got a date wrong for Kathleen? Should it be 1891?

Are we looking for a George Watts b1895 with a mother Emily b1874? If so, what was George's father's name?

Does your uncle have his birth cert? It looks lke all your info is word of mouth rather than from documents, is that correct?
