Hi am very new to this and hope someone can help me .. I can find George Wood date of birth 1837 born Ecclesfield Barnsly yorkshire and live in New street parish of silkstone and am stuck how can I find out who esle was in the house so I can find out who is father and mother where....

the census referred to is where he is living withe the slaters, possibly his grandparents as he is only 4 years old ?

Do you know who George Wood b 1837 married?

Could you explain how you got back to him, and whether you have used free bmd and censuses on here or elsewhere, and know about IGI.
If you do not know how to obtain birth certificates, does that mean that you have not got any certificates for any of your ancestors?
If he married, his Father's name will be on that certificate, which helps to make sure you have the correct man, as some names are very common and so difficult to pinpoint with any accuracy.
At the moment you are showing as 'unknown' - do you want to be known as whizzingalon, as, if so, you need to update that information.
