Find Ancestors

Please could anyone help me confirm who the parents and siblings of Frederick Charles James born 1861 Soudley Newnham Gloucestershire (died 9 April 1924 Finchley Middx) are. I have been searching and have gotten confused. I thought it was William and Mary Ann James but now not so sure.

I am probably being really silly but seem to have conflicting evidence.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I don't see his birth on FreeBMD.

He's a railway porter, his father a contractor, her father a labourer. Address for both 59 Camden St. Witnesses Allen Potts/Pitts? and Alice Sexton.

Thank you Margee that information I have investigated quite extensively, actually traced two of the sisters to Canada and visited relatives earlier this year with my mum. Its Frederick Charles James's parents I am now struggling with. Thank you for your help though. Didnt have the Baptism date before.

He definately signed as Frederick WILLIAM James!

This is the problem I have found sometimes it is Frederick Charles and sometimes Frederick William James. Flipping relatives!!! ha ha ha Typical of my family. lol

Rootgatherer unfortunately I dont have a birth certificate to confirm mother's surname.

Don't see a birth on FreeBMD that matches the Fred with William and Ann.

Of course there was no penalty for not registering a birth prior to 1875.

Mmmmmm very frustrating. Do you think I should order a birth certificate to see whether Frederick actually had the same mother?

Is there any other way I can trace this?
