Sorry Shirley I understand now, As you say that the young John could of been Sarah's and not john's so it may say who was his mums maiden name? |

Well I am really confused now, for it said Smith on staffsbmd for John Gratrix's mum's maiden name, but that is the Sarah Smith who was married to John Grattidge and his dad was also John, so the record office told me and it sure doesn't look like William! |

So I am still stuck at to who John Smith Greatrex married? It wasn't Sarah Smith becuse on the marridge cert it said John or Thomas for his dad when his dad waa William Greatrex. I have searched and can't find anyone els, but must of married someone, for he was a widower. |
