Hiy Gwyn, thanks so much for your help and is much appricated! I am not sure what you mean for the Edwars Rowley r. Do you mean she kept her maiden name or became Massey? The Louisa Massey who married the Mackie, was Mathews her maiden name?
What do you think i should do next?
Thanks
Lee

After this marriage......

Marriages Sep 1937
Edwards Joseph.... Massey... Rowley R. 6b 2838
Massey Louisa .......Edwards ....Rowley R. 6b 2838

.......there are children born, who appear to be of this couple. The mother's maiden name for these children is shown as MASSEY.
One would expect that if this was 'your' Louisa marrying, then there would not be those births showing in that way in the index, as her maiden name was not MASSEY.
Also
Your Louisa would be around 42 years old by then and would probably not have several more children.

This is ALL guesswork, but would be my way of limiting the buying of certificates, if it looked an unlikely match.
Hopefully you will be able to decide on the best and most likely marriage match and buy the certificate to confirm the facts.

Hi Gwyn, I see what you mean about Louisa having more children and being 41, it's not uncommon today but back then it would not probbably true. Would Louisa of reverted her name back to Perkin and that is why we can't find her under Massey?
Thanks for all your help and will let you know what I discover!
