Was going to say similar! my mums elder half sister went to Canada as a home child in 1909 from the McPhersons homes in the East End of London. Granddad had been widowed in 1906 and had to put his daughter and three sons in the home cos he had no means to support them at home whilst he worked. . |

Thanks once agin. I don't have a copy of her marriage certificate as this was in South Africa. I do have a birth certificate which I got from the GRO. The family records, which are taken from one of my aunt's bibles, gives the name of Pinchen for aunts and uncles, so there could be a connection with one of the posts here. I don't know when she arrived in South Africa but I am continuing my research. The letter that I have giving marriage permission does give the impression that it is from her parents and I can find no other birth for this name. |
