Peter If the above is him on the 1881, then he is a mariner on board ship on the 1871 and on the 1861 he is living with his grandparents with 2 siblings and an unmarried daughter. Perhaps his mother? Margaret

...I'm afraid I don't know. I think he married Sep Q 1871 to Jane Fowler. Jane Nurse died MarQ 1883 aged 24. I also have a John Nurse marriage in Grimsby March 1874, possibly to Elizabeth Atkins. I know some of my Brightlingsera Nurse family moved to grimsby (especially Isiah who married there in 1880) and I'm trying to work out who is who.... Peter

Peter I have looked on the LDS 1881 for a Jane Nurse with John as head of household. There are 2 where Jane is a wife. I think you need to get their ages. Jane's death cert will give you that. Or, their marriage cert to get John''s fathers name. Margaret

The John married to Alice and living in Grimsby was born in Norfolk in 1850 The John married to Agnes and living in Essex was born in Brightlingsea, Essex in 1855 (or 1854). The brother of Isiah.
