Evening Shelly you are busy Marilyn thanks for the photos, it still looks sunny where you are. When do you come back? Please bring the sun. Grey here til late afternoon.
Been washing nets and cleaning windows(inside ) today. Start of the spring clean. No child and no hubby he's at work.
Done a bit of knitting.
Maddie I've had a quick look for your family, but can only find yhe 1881 census so far and a birth of the son. I have a possible marriage, but need to recheck that as it was midnight last night when I was searching

First hallo Fiona nice to see a new one on the thread. Marilyn those photos were great thank you .for sending them. we expect rain tomorrow according to the forcaste this evening.
I expect that will be another excuse for the water board men to not do anymore to the holes in the path they have made .my son said perhaps they are Irish and had the day off to celebrate. lol
evening to everyone hope you all had a good day today ? did I tell you that we had mail yesterday and it was damp we had no rain so have no idea why it was like that.my friend had her census and could not open they envelope as it was stuck to the pages because of it being wet. so she said she is going to do hers on line.

Desiderata Written by Max Ehrmann in 1927
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, And remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly & clearly; and listen to others, even the dull & ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud & aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain & bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing future of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity & disenchantment it is perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue & loneliness. Beyond wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees & the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours & aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery & broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
This was a song in the charts back in 1972. I like the words. I'm sure that I had more sense when I was younger!

Hello Fiona, come back and chat again, don't be shy, we don't bite lol
The vet is coming tomorrow to give the horse her yearly jab and check her teeth and the dog is having her jabs too, sharing the visit with a friend, her horse is having the same. We share the call out fee, makes it a bit cheaper.
I remember that song, it was spoken wasn't it

I enjoyed the toast Stephen it went down well with some marmalade
did anyone watch desert trek last night people to get their sight back others going blind. I take my hat off to all those who took part they went through hell to complete that trek their feet and bodies were exhausted. just shows you celebrities at not just stars but magic for what they do.
