Morning everyone Rita I hope you can sleep a little today, but not too much as you won't get off tonight again. Maddie we too have fog and it's got worse since I got up. Well I advised Little M's Mum that I will stop minding at the end of April. Strangely enough their own house is just on the market !!! She wanted to talk to me too. The Dad has been offered a job in Singapore and they have to be there for him to start on 1st July WOW. So it fits in quite well. And I have offered to help until they go if I can. Have a good day everyone

Morning All,
Lovely Breakfast Maddie. I needed that.
Dull and miserable here this morning.
Rita....what a nuisance that noise must be. Hopefully the syringing will cure it. No too long now until you get it done.
Patricia,
In love with more than one person !
You know what they say......if you can't get a 60yr old......two 30yr olds will do just the same.
Dream on ! Stephen lad.

Hi all, we've got thick fog here. When I went out to go to the dentist I had straight hair, but the dampness in the fog made it go all curly again. Can't be bothered to straighten it again so it'll just have to stay curly.
OK Pat, own up................ who are the 2 men, do we know them?
Shelly, I haven't had any hot matches since Christmas either and I didn't upload a new gedcom.
Linda, that's worked out really well for you, couldn't have timed it better.

Hi everyone,
Its another lovely day, and I have all the windows and doors open, I have had the weather news from back home and I see UK is catching up !!
Still helping my Albert with his tree, might be getting somewhere, I'm dragging Shelly into it as well ...
Pauline hope your getting better.....not nice having such a bad cold.
Rita , how long do you have to wait for your Appointment for that syringe ?
Shelly ....I never seemed to bother looking at my hot matches ,I always think if someone wants to see if I'm related they would contact me ....see I'm lazy .LOL Tomorrow I'll be watching the ST Patrick's parade out here now thats going to be an eye opener as they all dress up in Green and think they are really Irish !! LOL maybe ancestor wise 4or5 generations back ,be even those like next door that has no connection whatsoever with the Irish dress up ...its funny. see they get it from being from the world of glamour & show business. they love to perform !!
What's even more funny, my neighbour said do you want some Shamrock for tomorrow.....wow I said did you get from Ireland...No its grown in our yard LOL Well it did have 3 cloves and it was green .......but its was giant of a plant just 6 times bigger than Irish Shamrock !!.....so when I explained to her that my Irish grandmother had ours sent from her sister in Ireland on St Patrick day and the Irish Shamrock was tiny almost like watercress.....she looked at me in amusement and said I thought we had the real Shamrock ......Oh dear what have I started ..LOL
Still I'll let you all know how it goes ...

I went to the doctors yet again she said my right ear was clear my left blocked the noise is due to my tiinitus they cannot help I will have to switch off and lsten to music on a CD or Radio. I have tinnitus but never in my life like this . my pulse was find so was my blood pressure well it was last tuesday. I didnt have a tempreture. the nose bleeds and sweats are due to stress about my noise in the ears. so looks like I am not going to have any sleep again tonight. or sleep through a night I wondered as I stagged out what I had done in my life to get all this lot thrown at me ? so you ladies and gents I need positive thoughts to get me through all this.
Marilyan I need a big fat candle lit now when you go to mass.for this poor old Lady.

Oh dear Rita, you are in the wars. I think you get everyone else's share of illness. Pity you couldn't have yourself a bottle of wine before you go to bed, I'm sure it would help you get some sleep.
Marilyn, my mother used to get shamrock from the priest every year, he said he had it sent over from Ireland. She used to have us all walking around with a bunch of shamrock pinned to our clothes all day.......... even after it died.

Everyone should know that Shamrock only grows in Ireland.
There are no deadly snakes in Ireland - St Patrick took care of their ancestors.
The best Guinness can be found in Dublin made from Liffey water. It doesn't travel well apparently. So, I'm not too sure what the pubs in the UK serve up.
Ask for a glass of Guinness in Ireland & you will get a half-pint. Ask for a half-pint & all you might get is a stern stare.
Potato skins are given to the pigs in Ireland. I've seen skins listed as a starter in some posh UK restaurants.
A famous American politician could not spell 'potato'. He shouldn't be allowed to wear Shamrock!
The Irish President's pay-packet is slightly bigger than that received by the current American President but possibly less than some British MPs with expenses.
For many years, Aer Lingus engaged female attendants only.
RTE Television constantly transmits ‘Tomorrow’s World’ today.
Before hanging was abolished in Ireland, the favourite hanging tree was the gooseberry bush.
And, of course, an Irish mile is longer than an English one.
Not long now till 1st April.

My word Pauline, Dermot leaves me breathless with his writings, I am waiting with baited breath for the 1st of April now. I'm not sure whats worse, having hair thats as straight as a die, or hair that frizzes when moisture gets to it. My grandaughters all have to straighten their hairs, but theres me with hair that needs curling or blow drying, to give it some shape. Are you feeling any better now.?
Well Linda, fate has surely lent you a hand with your retirement from child minding. It couldn't have worked out any better could it. Are you up to date after your holiday now.?
Marilyn enjoy the St Patricks day parade, just make sure you stand in a safe place, and don't get swept away in the crowd. The Americans go in for it big time don't they. A friend of mine is of up to London tomorrow, for the celebrations. Colette is Irish, and goes up there every year with her friends. I'm not sure where abouts they go, but they have a brilliant time of it.
Oh Rita, I am so sorry you are still having to put up with the tinnitus. It's so debilatating for you love. And not getting any sleep does not help. I will be thinking of you tonight, and praying for a good nights sleep for a change you.

Maddie, it's more than likely that it will be me thats the wallflower. I really is a quiet lickle fing. I have been painting the walls, not myself, so i'm not dolling myself up. Mind you, I have had to cover the grey hairs, I can't be showing you up now can I. We have the name of the Friendlies Thread to uphold, and our Marilyn would be most upset if we her girls let her down. Mind you, I am having my hair cut tomorrow, by a new hairdresser, and if she scalps me, I will have to wear a hat. ( a skull cap )

Hi everyone, Back home after a hard day in the office! If you believe that you'll believe anything! These 2 men are in Tolstoy's imagination- not my reality! Sorry! As it happens the girl ends up with nobody. Ah shame! Mind you I haven't fininsed the book yet. With regards to St Patrick's day I try to tell my friends it's my feast day but i think it falls on deaf ears. Rita, i'm sending you loads of positive thoughts all nicely boxed up with a red bow. I hope you feel better soon. Dermot, I look forward to your writings on 1st April!

Flaherty apparently is a west of Ireland name (particularly Galway) so will have a look and see. Only 4 weeks till I go to Ireland, Wexford area and am looking forward to a pint or two of the "Black Stuff". Will drink a toast to all on Friendly.!! Pauline hope you are feeling better. Has anyone heard from Yvonne? Marilyn enjoy the parade. Back in a while,

Hi Cath, I am not sure wether this is correct, but does Inisheer, Aran Island, County Galway sound like it could be the right area. I had a hot match with someone, with the same G.Grandmother's name as mine, but when I sent a p.m, I got no response, so I assumed they had left the site. And I have never got any further with it. Thank you again for looking for me.
I have to admit Maddie, I am a bit nervous about the haircut, but I always wear my hair short anyway.
