Hello everyone, hope you are all well and not being troubled too much by the gales.
I would like to thank you all for your kind messages and thoughts, you have all helped me through a difficult time and I really appreciate it. No more treatment for the time being, go for a scan and blood test results on Monday 26th September, then they will know whether I need more treatment or just a monthly scan.
I see from reading the thread that some of our friends are on holiday, I do hope they are having a great time.
Stephen, great news that your son is home, I bet you are enjoying having him with you.
I am going to have an early night, just been to settle my horses down for the night.
Good night my friends, may your God keep you in his care through the night.

Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

Hello everyone. I am back form the wedding. not had chance to read the back threads yet will do that later. Stephen I gather your son is back home god bless him so nice to hear he is back with you.

My grandson Lee was all dressed in his dress uniform for the wedding I was so proud of him (Royal Engineers ) he looked so smart and said he loves the army life. he now had 5 serving medals of the places he has been sent to I pray he will not have to go back to Afganistan again twice is emough,
I am pleased to read your news Jean good Luck on the results. I have to go next Monday for my scan results. I hope I get good ones.

Stephen we had two Scots at the wedding, I didnt know who they were, they were to do with the groom and one wore a plain kilt so I asked him what clan it was.? he said he had no clan as such a mxiure but the plain kilts were worn long before tha clan kilts. is that right ? it was the first I heard of it.

By sheer chance the wedding before Georgia's there were two scots there as well. and they were wearing my McCallum kilts I just had time to chat to them before we went into our Wedding.

I have taken so lovely film of the wedding.;
I will be back later.

Love
Rita

Hello everyone

Pleased your treatment has finished for now Jean, hoping for good news on the 26th

Marilyn sounds like you and Pete are having a good time, the train must have been fantastic, taking in all the views. Where are you in SF? When we went last year we stayed in a small hotel on the edge of the Tenderloin district, close to Market Street and Union Sq. Hope you get a chance to visit Alcatraz, it was fascinating.

Rita pleased the wedding went well and everyone had a lovely time, Best wishes to your son Micheal on his birthday <3

Mo
I have just read back three pages I did get good weather infact it never rained the whole time we were there. it rained when we got to the station at Christchurch to come home.

we did get a small hurrican I call it that as we walked to the quay to see the boats and it is full of sailing g boats small and big the wind was so bad it sounded like chuchbells as the rigging swung to and fro,., there were a lot of small sailing boats out at sea and had to make for the harbour so many of them came back some laying towards the water it was so strong. we walked along the the quayside and watched the sufers and sail sufers out at sea. I would never have gone out in that type of weather.
There is something funny that I want to tell you about. in the habour there were so many swans ans sea birds Mallards as well, I noticed in the water what looked like a Hippo so I took a photos as I did it moved. I thought . it was a model, ? it was but the wind blew and the Hippo moved. people walking by saw it and out came the camera. it was really comical to see them all taking photos.

Good evening ladies and Stephen.

A message from your board friend George,
He rang me today and asked me to tell you that he has sun burn.
Said it is a little to warm for him, but the kids love it and he cant keep them out of the pool.
He said, he has decided that sangria mixed with vodka is lethal.

that sounds about right for him.

Have a lovely evening ladies.
Foggy.

Foggy thank you for letting us know about George. I hope he wore longer shorts and not those little skimpy ones as his sun burns will be very sore.
he needs a nice young blond to rub some suncream on his body.

I thought he only drank lemonade now why did I think that.?

Hage a nice evening Foggy.

Morning All !

Another fine start to the day, bright and sunny. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Rita, Glad the wedding went well. Kilts ! Yes the first kilts were just a plain cloth. This was a large piece of cloth that draped over the shoulders and was held about the waist by a belt. It was also used as a blanket when sleeping.

Good productive day yesterday......and hopefully another one today :-) :-) :-)

Keep safe , keep well , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

This is my third attempt to get on here this morning, seems the problems haven't been sorted.
Anyone for breakfast??
Cereal or fruit,
Hot bacon rolls,
Tea, coffee or juice.
Looks like we are going to have a nice day today, think I will take my horses out for some exercise and Scarlett can go on her pony when I have done the housework.
Have a good day and enjoy whatever you are doing.
Take care and stay safe.

Morning everyone of you lovely people.

The sun is shining and it is quiet warm so that will make everyone in shops smile instead of frown.

Thank you for confirming the Kilt bit Stephen he was in full regalia except for the kilt.. which was a plain slate grey I think he must have been 6.6 he was so tall..

Pat when I first found out the family had come from Mells. I thought they meant Wells. until I managed to get a photo of St Andrews church where they were all baptised . and married in.
. Being as I belonged at the time. to Sommerset and Dorset FRHS I also managed to get all the Horwoods (my mothers family) list of births baptisim and marriages and deaths sheets of them, one had fouir sons all named Timothy he named them all that same name when they died the next one was named Timothy the last one suvived, but all buried in Mells. my Gt GT Grandparents moved to Frome and opened a shop sold everything in the way of groceries.lived to be in their late 90's
That is the reason I would like to visit.

Pauline what are you up too ? your quiet

see you later.

I forgot to say Pat
My sister is a retired teacher and she travels all over the world.,she never went further than America and Italy when Tony was alive he had cancer so she had the awful job of nursing him.
when he died she traveled to NY where they had lived 12 years and Tony was born there. then to Milan where they had lived 2 years. since then she has been to Candia three times. America every year, China, Budapest. Japan, New Zealand and many more places I could not do the travling she does she is 75 years old as well. she has nearly travelled the world. I think that is her aim.?
This trip is South Africa a Safari included and then on to Cape Town and a few other places before she comes home.
