OH just rung me about the cancellation.

I'm standing here like a right nana in my gear and feeling a little damp. It has just started to drizzle.

I wondered why the limosines swept into Buck House, I thought it was something to do with our reception.

OK, home on the bus.

Gonna need a hot bath and a cuppa.

Speak later.

Hoi,

It's a hoax call.

Get back to the Palace .......QUICK !

Don't let anyone put you off. Tell them that the SAS and SBS are your escorts........that'll do the trick.

Well I've made it, don't know where the rest of you are. Hope you don't expect me to collect all the awards. The MBE is on a red ribbon and it's very pretty, doesn't look as posh as the ones Shelly and Bobby are going to get though.

Is a DBE called a Damehood?

Rita

Rita Report 18 Oct 2010 12:48

I am shocked. infact speachless how can someone do that to ME.

someone is envous of me getting the award. I have been told the the Chile PM will give me a bit of a rock from the mine because of the hoax call I got..

I might have to sell my medals or pawn them if the cuts that are coming affect me too much.that is if they dont put my pension up. lol.

Glad you made it Rita, thought I was going to have to keep curtsying all day on my own.

Edit: You could see that bit of rock to pay your winter fuel bills off.

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 18 Oct 2010 13:01

Somehow it doesn't look right curtsying with trousers on.

Rita, I bet it was your estate manager who made that hoax call.

Marilyn, I can't think of that song without thinking of Morecambe and Wise, I'll never forget the time they did that sketch with the news readers and weather men..................I loved it.

Pauline you could be right it could be my estate manager she has it in for me. we have our AGM tomorrow and she wanted a list of the subjectS I am bringing up at the meeting.(they like to see them first so the can make excuses to my questions you know the motto "Be prepared ")
I told her I had not had TIME too so I will talk about them tomorrow at the meeting.

Pauline a bet .that a lot of bits of rock allegely coming from the mine .?will be on sale on ebay .people buy anything these days.

Marilyn you had better not drop the E of the end of the Dame ,when writing to Shelly.

Mo I saw you on the train you were sitting next to an Aussie with his hat on with little corks bobbying about..I didnt know if you had been at the bottles on your way up to London and had hung the corks on his hat.

I didnt see Stephen and his mates what happened to him ?I suppose he didnt want to mix with us LADIES

Rita, that Aussie chap was the reason the train was late. They threw him of the train before mine arrived, for being drunk, and the cheeky blighter got back on mine before they realised it.
I had to buy myself another blouse when I got here,as he kept trying to get me to have a drink with him,and more went over me,than in me.
The saying drunk as a skunk came to mind.
The last I saw of him ,was when the railway police picked him up from the floor of the train. I rushed of the train as I knew I was going to be late.
I didn't see the goings of Stephen either, perhaps he and the boys got a little tipsy at the champagne reception.

I think the men just got their gongs and scarpered. Fancy leaving us to fend for ourselves in the middle of the city. And us all dressed to the nines.

Do you think they were a bit frightened they might have to pay for our meals? Maybe they didn't bring much money with them and thought they might get landed with the bill..........again.
