Maddie
It had to be you . it had to be you .they wandered around and finally found
Maddies room .
I hope you didnt sleep in the nude.

Pauline
no I have not seen my Granddaughters house only on film she sent me lots of those inside and outside of her Cottage.she is getting married in Christchurch Priory.. so I will have to buy a new out-fit for that. I am gaining weight. as well
.
My sister and I are going to book a hotel for the week. thought we might as well make the most of it.we can go about sightseeing.

It is a lovely day here the sun is out but we did have rain last night.not sure if it will last.?

I am pleased I did not use the Underground train to go to the Palace I would have had a fit if I had been on one of those and they had broken down through the electriciy. mind you there are rummours going about that it was done diliberate because of the unions strikes.but then people also say things like that/.

I have my meeting later this morning so better get my self some Breakfast.
see you later

Good luck with the meeting Rita, stand your ground, and fight for your rights (the 'Beastie Boys' sang that didn't they?). (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)

Rita if you go on 'google maps' and type in your granddaughter's address you'll be able to see her cottage............unless she's like Marilyn and lives in the middle of a field.

Maddie I tried to warn you it was a hoax call yesterday but you'd already gone back home. But Stephen made sure he got your gong for you, he wrapped it up very gently and put it in his sporran. He said he was going to get it to you by special delivery...........whatever that means.

Stephen were you in the SBS? Can I have a try of your Night Vision Goggles? I've always wondered what it would be like using those things.

I don't know how you explained getting home at 3am, you must be a very good story teller.

everything went well. all sorted we are having the laundry room redone so it will look nice. it has not been done since the place had been built in 1968.so the room will be out of action for a couple of weeks. as all the flooring has to come up.

Pauline I already looked at the Google Maps when they did the new system and found Georga.s Cottage.

Marilyn. I bet your excited at meeting Linda and her Husband . I hope the weather is being kind to them.? sorry to hear about your niece coming over here for such a sad event. didnt you . go and see her when you were on that cruise. ?

Are they having Devon scones with clotted cream and strawberries. ?and little cucumber sandwiches with crust taken of ?

Glad to oblige Maddie.

Dog was not a problem....gave it my Sporran to play with. It had a great time.

Ok ladies....got to tell the truth.

I'm still in the SBS.

Scottish Bampots Sanatorium.

They let me out to play silly games now and then

It's great fun.

I pretend to go to exotic places and usually find loads of folk that are probably from the same kind of places to go with me.

Then we return from whence we came and no one knows where we have been and how much fun we have had.

Night Vision Goggles...easy. Do what we do.

Strap a torch to your head. Magic.

I'm off to my wee Grandaughters 5th Birthday tea. Darcey is magic and I love her to bits. I've had her sailing and climbing already....she loves it.

Afternoon everyone

glad you all had a great time at Buck House, hope you did your curtseys properly

Marilyn I wondered where my horse had gone, she's very greedy but she thinks I don't feed her enough!

I put my name on the list for the meet in London next year so hopefully see some of you there, it seems white cardies are in fashion lol

hope you're going to save some scones for us to share later Marilyn

have fun at the party Stephen, I have a niece named Darcey, she's 13

see you all later

Rita Report 19 Oct 2010 15:52

Stephen
I hope little Darcey is not a memeber of your club yet. , and dont teach her all your tricks. we dont want her to end up as daft as we all are.
Marilyn I would still like a scone and some cream. even a few strawberrys would not go a miss. ?

Shelly it is not the machines they are doing a way with ,we only had them two years ago, one if a dryer and the other a washer. they are commecial ones.and cost hundreds of pounds.
It is the tiles on the floor and the walls and all the doors are being changed. the laundry room leads off to a bath and shower room and seperate toilet. all these are being replaced. this is for anyone using the guest room to use..
I started a Library in the guest room. buying books and putting them in the Library, when I have finshed reading them. for any of the residents to read.some are poorly so dont get out .and the nurse comes in to tend to them.People get them a book to read from my little Library.it is free.
sometimes I get cross ,as sometimes the books vanish and people take them when they go in to do the washing for someone.and they take the books home and dont bring them back..
I have a friend now who gives me Jig Saw Puzzels so I leave those in the room now.

That's awful Rita, fancy nicking the books, they'll be nicking the puzzles next.

Pleased to see your meeting went well though.

Aww - HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY to Darcey, hope she's had a lovely day, don't eat all the cake Stephen.

It's all birthdays this week, it's my son's birthday tomorrow and it's Mo's birthday on Friday.

Yvonne where've you been? It's cost me a fortune for polo mints for that horse of yours.

I hope Linda found her way to Marilyn's house. Is she there yet Marilyn?

Shelly, I've just sent a dryer (in good working order) up the tip because I changed the colour of the kitchen and I couldn't find anyone who wanted the white one I had.

Where's Mo today? Maybe she's preparing for a party on Friday.

Maddie will be parading around London to make sure everyone sees her gong.

Jean, how are you this week?

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 19 Oct 2010 17:16

Stephen, a pitman's helmet would be easier to wear than a torch strapped to my head. I bet it was your idea to strap a mobile phone to someone's head to make it 'Hands Free'.

Yes, our sanatoriums allow us out on day trips...........as long as we don't stay out all night.......that's against the rules.

Cooeee everyone.
Maddie, you had our version of James Bond in your bedroom, and you slept through it, oh my god what are you like. Did Stephen leave a box of chocs for you as well, (Milk Tray ) if I remember rightly.
I wonder if Linda and Marilyn are still yapping away. Thats if Linda found her way there.
Yvonne it will be nice to meet you all,at the London meet. Are you coming along as well Pauline. I know Maddie and Marilyn will be there.
I wonder if we could encourage Shelly to come along as well. If Rita could go up to her sisters that weekend, she could also come along.
Unless Stephen is down in town,we are unlikely to get to meet him.
Wouldn't it be nice if Jean could make it as well,we would all then know exactly who we are talking to on here, in our little madhouse.
I nearly forgot about Brents birthday tommorrow Pauline. Are you going to do him a special tea. I hope he has a lovely birthday, with a special mum and dad. xxx

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 19 Oct 2010 19:21

Of course you bonded Marilyn - Linda is one of us. Glad you had a good time. Did you eat all the scones then or have you kept some for us? (Edit: I answered the phone between typing this and posting it, so I didn't know you'd already sent the scones down the cyber hatch).

Linda isn't the only non drinker, we've got Shelly and Rita as well. Are there any more none drinkers on here?

Hope Linda's hubby finds his way back in the dark.

Shelly, Linda's having a holiday in Devon............we aren't. That's the difference!!

Mo, there's no chance of me going to London, I panic going to Sunderland in-case I don't get back home in time. Thank you for Brent's birthday wishes, he loves his birthday, thinks he's the bees knees. I've been for some gateaux for him to take to the centre tomorrow to have a party with his friends and I'll make him a special tea for him and his cousins when he comes home.

Rita

Rita Report 19 Oct 2010 19:27

Marilyn that was good you got together with our Linda I am not sure about the meet yet. I will have to see how things go.

The books people are welcome to read them, even take one home but there must have been 12 went in one day.and never came back. we have a couple of elderly people ,one is nearing 100 the others are in their 90's so cannot go out ,unless taken in a car. there are a lot on this estate who have cleaning ladies come in and do their housework and washing. I could not afford to. but many can. they have to as they cannot cope themselves,
You would think people would be more understanding about the books. never mind I will find some more for them.

Pauline Happy birthday to Brent for tomorrow.in case I forget.

Shelly most of the hotels I have been too have books left or given by visitors.I left four when I was in Torbay last year. people dont mind people taking them home when they have started to read. and not finished I have done that myself I must admit I often leave a book I have taken with me because I have finished it..

Hi Mo. hope your keeping well exercised with those dart throwing hands and arms.,?

Oh Pauline what a shame we wont be able to meet you in London. Never mind we can update you on the antics when we get back.
I bet our Marilyn will be up to mischief that day,big time LOL.
Have you read Brents Birthday thread on here as well Pauline, Jean has done a good job again, remembering everyones special occasions.
I hope Brent has a lovely time at his day centre, and when he gets back home for his party with his cousins.

Rita, my darts arm is having a rest till next monday night. Well I may give it a try out on sunday lunch time.
By the way, I am also a non drinker. Water, juices etc,but nothing stronger.
I may joke about having a drink, but have not touched alcohol in over twenty years. Can't take it any more, with my meds, so it doesn't bother me now.

Mmmmm those scones were fantastic Marilyn, thanks a lot. Did you get your share Shelly.

Hello All. Home from the pit-face. Had a bath and a bit of snap and I'm right jiggered. I dont know what on earth I am talking like this for, I am London born and bred. lol

Maybe cos I read Pauline talking about Sunderland. OH family comes from there, Seaburn and Roker. We went up in June, blooming cold. Very bracing, I had to keep having cups of tea, just to warm me up.

Oh, someone poke me in the eye with a sharp stick. Have added Yvonne to the list for the London meet, without realising it is OUR Yvonne. Silly mare, what am I like.

The scones were lovely Marilyn, thank you.

Rita I was not nude, or naked. My days of sleeping in the buff are well and truly over, since everything has headed south.

Stephen you naughty boy, Charlie [the dog] has been mooching around for a few hours, I think she thought your sporran was a mandog. She is currently, er, cuddling, her blanket. Its not a pretty sight.

Shelly, sorry, Dame Shelly, you must meet us all. I am very curious about you all. I have a mental picture of you ladies, but will be interesting to see if you match up to my imaginings.

Hope everyone is well.

Back later.

Morning all. Hope everyone is well.

Just dashing out soon, but wanted to say hello to everyone.

Decided to watch The Sweeny last night on tv, didnt end until 2.30am. Knackered.

Love The Sweeny, so un pc. 'Get yer knickers on darling and make us a cup of tea'. Wonderfully quaint. No wonder Life of Mars copied their ideas from it.

Cold but bright here. Sun glinting on the BT Tower.

See you all later.
