I have had a nice day with my sister who came for the day. we searched for a good hotel in Western Supermare on the internet. after we had dinner. we found one hotel thought this has a good write up ?we found photos of broken window ledges. toilet seat and basin in bad condition and carpet torn to bits we realised someone was getting their own back .I cannot recall the hotel now. but we had a good laugh. Linda I found out the Twyford Lodge was a workhouse it closed about 1921 I had forgotten my sister had worked at Park Royal Hospital as a volenteer nurse while she attened The catholic school in Harlesden. I typed in the information for that thread but he appears not to have looked it.I gave him the information and where he can find what he needs to know about it.
I use to take my children to Panto I took them to the Olymipia ones as well as the palladium. they loved it. we use to pay 2/6 each. My daughter now treats all her family that includes 7 grandchildren to one at the Beck theatre and her bill costs £300. she said it is part of their christmas treat. but there are about 14 go.,

Good Evening All.
Hope everyone is well and warm.
I hope all the coughs have gone before the Meet, cos we will sound like a load of day evacuees from the Sanatorium. lol
Islington Poly. All my family come from that Area. They all lived within a couple of streets of each other.
Rather posh now. All the professional people have moved into that area. Upper Street is now a continuation of bistros. All the ladies who lunch sit there, outside in the pavement, getting polluted by the cars and lorries. gal.
I do love a good Panto. We always took the kids either to Hackney Empire or Wimbledon Theatre. They really got animated, and jumped up and down. They usually got picked to go up on the stage, cos their were the gobbiest there.
Getting very cold again. Frost coming down, said we may have a light dusting of snow by the end of the week.
Oh Joy.
See your laters.

Hello again,
Tonight it is very dark, overcast and raining, temperature up at 5C.
That should see more of the hard packed snow and Ice away. Thank goodness.
Hope all your coughs , sneezes and sniffles are disappering from those that have been suffering from them recently. They are a real pain to have. You get more sympathy if you have a broken leg than if you have a cold.
Still haven't managed to have a walk in the hills yet......perhaps this weekend........fingers crossed. Want it to be clear and crisp.
Had to make a detour on the way home tonight the road was blocked in both directions for several miles due to a crash. The length of time that it has been closed usually indicates a fatallity. Hope not.
Time for shower and then supper. Then unwind by watching some Telly before heading for kip.
Catch you tomorrow.
Night all.

With so many people expected to live so long, with six times more women than men predicted to reach one hundred years and beyond, how can we fund and provide in the future a decent standard of living & support facilities.
Work longer, I suppose - especially all those women!
(Should I leave the house now?)

Morning everyone. an extra good morning to all of you with flu and coughs.not nice are they ? I seem to have got rid of mine I AM SAYING THAT AND HOPE I AM RIGHT ?
I had a late christmas present yesterday £30 of John Lewis vouchers.my nephew left them for me before he went home to USA. He had already brought me a large box of Turkish Delight, one of my favourite sweets,
my decorations are all down now and boxed I have to put them back in the top of the wardrobe later on today. all that trouble getting them out and putting them up and taking them down, still it was worth it. made the christmas seem it was really here. otherwise one day is like another.
see you later rita

Hope you are all well and warm.
The sun is up, the sky is blue Theres not a cloud to spoil the view .......................... tra la la.
The sun is shining hurrah. Still coughing though.
Passion apparently, Stephen, works up a sweat so raises the temperature and fights off a cold. So we know what to do girls. lol
Wiv me socks and evil smelling potions to shift me congestion - no chance.
Decorations coming down today, they will be gone and packed away by the time I come home, so will be bare I suppose. The room, not Kevin.
See you later.

standing in a queue today in shop. I overheard three women talk.they were complaining their children had not been able to get a flu vacine from their doctors (not my doctors. ) they were told they had run out and the supliers had none left in stock at that moment.. One said I could have had her done but did.nt realise it would be an outbreak like this of flu. ? she was going on and on.saying doctors should not run out of these things .Then one of the others said she had , had hers done but didnt want to upset her child by getting his done. I wanted to say something but kept quiet. fancy a mother getting a vacine done for herself and not her child. ?
I didnt get mine done that was my fault as I didnt want the swine flu jab which was with the flu one. I regret it now after how ill I have been.
I hope those women learn there lesson and get their children done next year even . if they cannot get it done this year.

I wonder how long I will be able to keep this up. Lol

Well done Rita, on sticking to your diet. The temptation to cheat is so great isn't it. I know what you mean about that mum not getting the childs flu jab done. They were talking about it yesterday,on our local T.V, and there was a woman on there saying the same thing. How selfish can they be, as long as they are protected, why worry about the child, huh. Mind you, the same thing has been happening with the M.M.R injections, parents decided not to get their childre innoculated against it, because of the scares that were going on at the time. All my children had every jab that was going, and the same with all my grandchildren. Still next year I will be able to get my flu jab done with no problems. It sounds stupid when you ask if you can have one done, and they say no you are not old enough, and because you suffer from no other ailments, you are not allowed it.
Good to see you back Cath. I hope you had a nice time, perhaps you will fill us all in on your break away when you get home tonight.
Linda, hurry up and get rid of that couch of yours, it's been hanging around for long enough. I hope you enjoy your day with the little one. Have you only got the one to look after now.?Mind you one can be enough cant it.
The same goes for you Maddie, get that cough mixture down your throat girl, and get rid of it soon. We can't have you croaking away at the meet, we need you in your best singing voice that day. I don't know about your net crashing last night, but I have had to try several times today, to get into this particular site. There was nothing to say they were doing work on the site, so I don't know what was happening.
Pat, my OH had a stinking sore throat yesterday, and was complaining of feeling rough. He had a hot lemon and honey drink, and a couple of paracetamol, and touch wood, he feels a lot better today. I was starting to panic, thinking I was going to have to become a nurse again, amongst my other jobs around here. lol
Stephen, hows the ice situation now. Did you manage to get the salt laid on the drive and paths. We have got a bitterly cold wind blowing here at the moment, no snow as yet, but nothing would surprise me.
Good afternoon Jean, I hope you didn't get to wet this morning when you went out. Are you still coming to the Victoria meet love.
Now where has our Pauline got to again. I hope all is well with you all Pauline. I bet Brent is enjoying being back at his day centre, but I bet you miss having him at home.
