Evening All,

ANOTHER gloomy and bit foggy day here, tomorrow should be better but I won't hold my breath.

Men, what are they like!! lol Mine gets up in the morning, leaves all the doors open so you can hear everything, the loo flushing etc, then he will decide to empty the dishwasher with the kitchen and hall doors wide open too so you can hear him crashing the pots and pans together. Best of all, after a while he tiptoes back to the bedroom like Mr Jinx, asks if you've been back to sleep (fine chance!!) and then tells you what he's been doing, like you need telling when you've been listening to it all!!!! lol, lol (Sorry Frank, David.......I'm sure you are different??)

Anne, your back is in good company on here, with the other dodgy backs, knees etc!! lol

Larkrise was good wasn't it and the lacemaking was fascinating. I don't think I could do it.......looks like you need a good memory of what goes where with those bobbins! Those rags in Minnie's hair were just how mum did my hair to make ringlets! The hard lumps with my hair pulled tight made my scalp sore.

Hope the car passed it's test Liz......OH has to take his next week and has decided that he needs 2 new tyres before then.....MORE EXPENSE as Frank would say. Your granny obviously thought 'the devil makes work for idle hands then'. My mum used to say that.

LOL Ann.Our kitchen is right under the bedroom.Chris gets up at 5.30 these days, has a wee ,flushes ,far** ,then goes downstairs to put the kettle on.I hear the tap go then the kettle boil and in the meantime he empties the dishwasher ,and yes there is crashing of all the pots and pans etc as he gets them out and puts them away.He then goes into he garage (just off the kitchen ) to get out a freezer block thing to go in his lunch box. When he shuts the freezer he thumps the door 3 times to make sure it is shut.(always 3 thumps).I say OCD

Jane, fancy getting a Heron in the tree!!! lol I think you had Moorhens on the top of the hedge last year. Those Squirrels look plump little chaps after pinching the birds' food!! lol

Anne, that sounds awful. You must have been worried you'd be able to walk again. Mine only plays up if I lift or carry too much. Then it will suddenly spasm with no warning and I look like I'm playing 'statues' for a few minutes till it eases again.Years of carrying a laptop over my shoulder and a heavy briefcase started the problems, but after I retired it greatly improved.

my message got sent before I finished writing lol.As I was saying I hear everything he does ,and he thinks I have been asleep as he creeps in with my cuppa. So we have 2 Mr Jinxs !!!!!!!.I had forgotten about Mr Jinxs Ann.( what cartoon was he in??)
Yes I was surprised to see that Heron.I thought it was a swan to start off because of the long neck. Those Moorhen from last year are all living next door .I see them everyday. There are 6 of them.We just get the occasional one in our garden now.But the blasted rabbits are being a real nuisance now.Holes all over the place and eaten plants.I think I should has grabbed the chaps with the ferret the other day when they were rabbiting across the road.I can see Chester disappearing down one soon as he is very interested lol

Mr Jinx....was he in Tom and Jerry? He said 'I hate those meeces to pieces' didn't he! I would have thought of a swan first too Jane. I bet Chester loves the bunnies coming in the garden. lol

Anyone watching Hop, Skip and Jump on BBC4 now......a 2 part thing about the history of childrens games? I've recorded it.

Jane

Jane Report 17 Jan 2011 19:44

Ann is that programme a repeat? I saw something like that a little while ago.Missed it now ,it has finished.
Of course Mr Jinx hated Meeces to pieces .I remember now lol.He used to tip toe on his claws didn't he?

Annx

Annx Report 17 Jan 2011 20:42

Just looked in the paper.....you are right Jane it is a repeat. I bet when we play it we'll find we have seen it too.

Mr Jinx did tiptoe on his claws and on 2 legs too with his front paws tucked under his chin. I used to love watching him. It would probably be considered too violent these days.

My boy loved Tom and Jerry and my dad used to make up stories about them for him at bedtime.

I liked Top Cat too Mandy. They got up to some high jinks did'nt they.

What was Sylvester the cat in can you remember?

Was it Tweety Pie? and he had a lisp.

I think they were something to do with Loony Tunes and Merry Melodies.

10.19am.

Morning Mel and all
and Hello senoj ,I used to get a lot of tar on my feet and legs from the beach.I never remember butter being used to remove it.I think it was white spirits or turps or something. Then on clothes and plimsoles it was Dabit Off.

It is a lovely morning here Mel .Nice to see the sun at last.It makes you feel much happier. It was very frosty first thing and Chris had to scrape the windscreen.
I am going to clear up some leaves from the front this morning, and go to the PO to return a present that James had from his girlfriend which was broken.

Coffee now BBL

Morning Mel and All.

Sunny here too, but a sharp frost. I had another bad night sleepwise, but made myself get up at 8.00am. The shower soon woke me up and OH soon appeared, all bleary eyed saying his sciatica was playing up a bit. We did the shopping and OH has now gone to get his tyres replaced ready for the MOT. Later we are going to Tamworth.....there is a Hob*ycraft shop there and we might go and look at the castle after and call at a garden centre I like on the way back.

Why do you ache Mel....... were you doing something strenuous yesterday?

Hi, Senoj, nice to see you post on the thread. I remember listening to the Navy Lark on the radio. Also Round The Horn and Billy Cotton's Band Show........how did it go.......Da da da daaaa daaaa daah!! I seem to remember a rainbow sherbert they scooped out into those triangular bags. Any more memories to help us out with would be most welcome.

Better get sorted to go out now......before the sun goes in.

Oh didn't see you Mandy and Jane....morning to you too. Doesn't it make you feel better when there's a bit of sunshine. I can just imagine Toby dozing in the sun! lol Those hangers sound like a bargain for Frank.

Toodle pip!
