Warning
If any of you shop in Morrisons and are thinking about registering for your "MATCH AND MORE" Card...

https://www.morrisons.com/matchandmore/register.html

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU READ THEIR PRIVACY POLICY FIRST!

http://your.morrisons.com/Privacy-Policy/

I've printed it out ...all 7 pages!

By signing up, you have agreed to their terms and conditions, which include...

Being able to access information on you from Banking, Credit Card,, credit reference agencies.

Basic Government held information on you. DVLA information.

Your Social Media content

Etc, etc, etc!

HOWEVER ...Without a card, you cannot benefit from their promotions! :-| :-|

Like the Christmas one, where you spend £40 in the store each week and have £25 off your Christmas shop for example

I don't think I am willing to sign up for this!

What do the rest of you think?

It'll be back to Tesco for me,I think!

Sharron Report 3 Nov 2014 13:02

That is what all these supermarket schemes have always been about, access to information.

That is another good reason to shop at Aldi and Lidl. Total anonymity.

MotownGal Report 3 Nov 2014 14:08

Blimey, do they want your shoe size too?

Not for me I think.

HERE's JUST ONE SMALL PART of the Information you are giving Morrisons permission to use, when you sign up for the new card-

C&P'd from their Privacy Policy

Profile information and insight from organisations that already hold information on you, such as credit reference agencies and ‘customer insight companies’. They give us their views on your household, your status, as well as your possible preferences and behaviours.

This information includes the likely makeup of your household (e.g. how many children you may have and their likely average age) and what your household affairs may be like, the type of car you may drive, your interests (including the kind of magazines and newspapers you may read, where you might go for your holidays and whether you’re environmentally conscious or not) and where you’re likely to shop.

It also includes observations about your likely education and employment status, the type of job you may have and your likely financial status (including your mobile phone expenditure, what credit, debit and other cards you may hold, your current account status and any loans, investments and savings you may have). It also places you into one or more defined behavioural and socio-economic groups.

Good grief, I've got a headache wading through that lot!

I wonder how many people have signed up without reading that agreement. I nearly did!

I find it quite frightening!

And you are probably right Maddie! They probably would be able to access your shoe size quite easily! :-0 :-0 :-0 :-D

Good job I have such dainty feet Jemima!

:-D :-D :-D Maddie!

Like Sharron said, there's a lot to be said for shopping in Lidl or Aldi now! Or perhaps Farm Foods.

Maybe I allowed Tesco's have the same access to these things when I signed up for the Club Card years ago! I didn't have a computer then to check these things out so easily!

I shop a Tesco's - but don't have a 'loyalty' card.
In fact, I don't have a 'loyalty' card for any shop.

This is another area that you are giving Morrisons access to your information from, if you sign up for their Match and More Card

C & P'd from their Privacy Policy

"Technical information about the devices you use to access our websites and mobile apps."

"We also collect this detail when you use our in-store WIFI networks to access the internet. We specifically save each device’s unique identifying codes (MAC address or IMEI number) device model, device name, relevant IP address, operating system and version, web browser and version, and geographic location"

I shop at Morrisons have done so for years, I recently signed up to the new Match & More card, they will soon discover I am a very boring person!
I don't use a credit card, I don't have anything on credit, no DVLA info on me (I don't drive, never have) never had a Passport (don't do holidays) & no loans, never had a mobile phone..
I do read the odd magazine but don't buy from them(support my local newsagent)

I like their offers,& I do benefit from the £40 shop get £10 off after 3/4 weeks,& their Christmas offer as well,I always spend £40 so it's worth it to me, & with the new Match & More I have already gained 400 points from 2 weeks shopping.

We don't have much of a choice in supermarkets in my area, no Tesco or Aldi close enough so can't shop there, the local Asda store is small, most of the things on my weekly shopping list they don't stock!
In the main I only do my lottery in Asda, with an occassional purchase of a reduced item! no loyalty card.

I'm happy with our Morrisons,& not worried.

Joan.

Thank you for your Input Joan :-) :-)

I too have taken advantage of the offers you mention. The store is only a short distance away from me too!

I am as yet undecided as to what to do, so I appreciate all opinions! :-)

My OH shops there everyday, it's our corner shop really, so of course he has signed up for it

I don't suppose it is any worse than any other shops promotion...

I sent the form off for Mum as unable to do it on the internet as a required field was for a mobile phone number which Mum does not have.

Also I left blank on the form was email addy and telephone number.

So waiting to see if they return it.

Mum wants to use the card and I would be using the key fob.

Amokavid Report 4 Nov 2014 00:04

GlitterBaby,

I had the very same issue re the mobile phone number, not having a M phone I just put in the numbers 12345678910,& was able to proceed.
I emailed Morrisons suggesting that the M phone bit should be optional they said that they would not be changing it & just to do what I did re random numbers!!!

I am still using the temporary card given on the application form until the other card & key fobs arrive.

Joan.

So Morrisons card is no different to any other loyalty card nor their website to any other.

No big surprises then.

Where does Data Protection figure in all this ? :-|

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 4 Nov 2014 09:37

When an online form asks for a phone number, we put in the correct number of Zeros.

There are some exceptions when we enter a correct landline number. There's no point adding the mobiles. By the time we realise it's not the Tv/radio and actually found the things, the call has ended!
