My dear mum in law who's a poorly frail 74 year old has been taken to hospital, my OH has taken her with his dad, I am so worried, if this is the case she will be in real problems, she is already being treated for a DVT with blood thinners which has been ongoing since last August, she has chronic rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, I will update later as I'm not sure whats going to happen if she needs an op. Gillie xx

Hi everyone, thank you for your good wishes, MIL has had an x-ray and it appears she hasn't fractured her hip, well not that they can see, they think she may have an infection in the joint,FIL was a bit vague on the phone, he said the doctor was going to examine her and send her results to her GP!! what use is that right now? OH has just gone over to pick FIL and MIL up, they are sending her home, bearing in mind she can hardly stand, and also has an upstairs loo in there house, I knew I should have gone over and kicked up a bit, I will see what she is like later on this evening, I have dinner to cook for my brood of men here now.

Updated today! Hi everyone, thank you all for your best wishes, father in law has been over to see us with an update, the blood test results are back from hospital, mum in law has an infection in her hip joint, her GP will visit her this morning, after that we will be taking her into hospital, as yet I don't know what they will be doing with her, she isn't going to be happy at the thought of having to saty in. Gillie, MiL will be ok, she'll be a fish out of water for a few days but will soon settle. Don't forget to back her nihty and toiletries (inc towel), and take any regular medication she is on, they'll need it to write up a prescription chart. A few days on antibiotices and I bet you MiL will be back on her feet. ((((hugs)))) to all
