depends what you call years i guess..i have had my vax vacuum cleaner for 14 years and it still worls..does that count?

I still have a small tumble drier that I bought when I had my first baby in 1987. It cost £50 from Rumbelows (remember them?).

I have carman heated hair rollers that I bought with my first week's wages in 1974 ... a few have lost bits of the plastic coating but otherwise are okay. I recently bought a newer set but also use the old ones that haven't lost bits of the plastic coating. Caz

Electric fan fire.....20 years old......I seem to go through hairdryers, goodness knows how I manage to make them conk out.......I had a friend who was always needing another iron.....

Just threw away my Kenwood Chefette mixer. It was a wedding present in 1968, but finally the motor burnt out just before last Christmas. I knew I shouldn't have tried to mix a Christmas cake with it!!! I bought husband a Black & Decker drill for his 21st birthday. He was 60 last week and the drill is still working. It has had quite a few new parts though. I still have my Nan's Singer sewing machine that Grandad bought for her in 1934. I have the original bill of sale. It still sews well, although I don't use it very often, preferring my newer machine! I do use it for sewing heavy curtains though and intend to use it to make a patchwork quilt later this year. It had an electric motor fitted to it in 1950. Nanna was a dressmaker and the machine was in constant use until at least the late 1970s. Sue

I have a Wolf hand electric planer, it's 29 years old, i am a joiner by trade & it's done some work over the years even to the extent of smoke coming out of it,it's never gone wrong. Brian

We have a microwave that is about 20+ old. I am dying for it to break down as I want a new small white one. They are so cheap now I'm gonna give it till the summer and then I'm getting another one anyway Linda

Don't do it Linda! I had a Bejam microwave for years. Never had any trouble with it. But.... it was big and brown and didn't go with my new kitchen. In the past 6 years I have had 5 microwaves! Now buy them for £35 in Asda because they seem to last as long as the more expensive ones! Sue xx

Oh dear, my age is showing now!!! I have a Vigorelli sewing machine bought for me by my boyfriend when I was 18 in 1974 - that makes it 32 years old!!! - and me even older :o(. Never been serviced and used a lot after me and b/f married. Then again when we divorced!! Not used so much now though. Last major project was covers for the suite about 3 years ago. maggie

We have a battery charge at home thats at least 23 and a wireless (as dad calls it) that's from the year dot.

I have a clothes dryer that we got second hand in 1989 and a microwave that we got in 1985 - both used on a daily basis (less for the dryer during the summer though).
