I shall certainly keep trying Gwyn. I take a notebook with me now every time we go to visit Phil's mum (aged 92 next month) - I was only saying to someone the other day that I must get the notes sorted - there may not be many more occasions when I can ask questions! She is a mine of information - as soon as I get the book out - she's off! LOL You sometimes hear the same thing over and over again - but generally it's the details like where people lived (house names etc. and family stories) that flesh things out for me - I love it. Must slurp this tea quick - daughter has just telephoned - she is on her way to pick me up to go shopping - and I haven't showered yet.

Older people are great aren't they? Finding an article on the Times site last year sparked Mum off on alot of memories. I love her little snippets like ' my grandmother was a little lady and she had auburn hair'. We sometimes find out about the men from service records, but not so often info. about the womenfolk.
