Hello Pam.

I'm trying to track down a death that occurred around 1840. The subject is Anthony Daffy Swinton, formerly of Norfolk and London. I'm pretty sure I've found my target in 'The Channel Islands' section of the Utah Historical and Genealogical Magazine, Vol 7 for 1916 (in a version available free online), where he's recorded as dying on the 4th November 1840, aged 73. The latest previous record is ten years earlier when he was finalising bankruptcy proceedings in London. I have no idea what he may have been doing in the Channel Islands in 1840, assuming that the record is correct and he did die there (the Utah magazine contains no details of cause of death, location of death, etc).

Unfortunately the Channel Islands section in Volume 7 is the second half of an article that started in Vol 6, and is missing all info about the sources of the information provided in the article, and I haven't been able to find Vol 6 anywhere myself Including via Family search, etc). is there any chance you could point me in the right direction? Maybe a copy exists in the Channel Islands somewhere?

Many thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

Jerry

Jeremy, although I know its been suggested you contact JerseyLily, no one is quite sure of she is still a paying member.
However, if you message her off-board by clicking on her name, she will be able to reply to you.

Non-paying members can reply to messages but can't instigate them or post on the boards.
