Sorry - have been out all day. All I basically knew from certs is that Barbara's mother died just after childbirth and her father had died a few months previous. The births and deaths of the family were reg'd by a Naomi Roberts, Barbara's aunt. I couldn't find Barbara anywhere until a distant relation emailed to say she had emigrated to USA with a man named Mr Holmes, and married him. Of course its possible that this lady made a wrong turn in her research... Barbara was a Romany gypsy and her parents never legally married.
SO...... have I took a wrong turning do you think? And its just Edward Holmes not Robert Edward. Could Robert not just have been made by his middle name? Thankyou for reading x

Why did you think he was Robert Edward Holmes?

The lady who contacted me said he was, I took it at face value as shes related. Im totally out of the loop with research, having had a long time off, but Id rather know. So Barbara didnt emigrate after all then and the children arent hers. Thankyou for doing this for me, I'll go back to my tree x

Sorry, surely Barbara emigrated with Edward Ho(l)mes, and you can see those links to the graves?

Is this Barbara's birth registration, with mother's maiden name as Harris?
