Wheels on fire Sharron :-) How appropriate it would be.

However, your plans sound great and I am sure that Fred would approve.

With regards to not being sad. My Dad was 93 when he died and ready to go so, no I wasn't sad, nostalgic for how he used to be but not sad he had gone. So I understand your feelings there. and the after funeral gathering for my Dad was great with family members and friends all talking about his life. The only pity about Fred's wake is that he won't actually be there to enjoy the food!!!

Bless him, he had a good life to celebrate :-) <3

Sharron how wonderful and am sure Fred would approve,
hope you are remembering to put a wee tipple of Whisky
to toast him on his way.
I want to thank you for sharing Fred with us and his adventures,
take care of yourself and my thoughts with your OH and Fred's
mate.

Sharron the funeral arrangements sound brilliant and an accurate reflection of Fred's full, interesting and varied life.

Although I obviously never met Fred I like Louis Armstrong singing " Its a wonderful world" It seems to sum to him up perfectly.

Look after yourself, thank you for sharing your stories, long may they continue.

Lovely idea Sharron, I think we should all have a sausage sandwich on that day as a toast to Fred's memory.

Thinking of you.

Sounds perfect Sharron, my brothers father-in-law had runner bean flowers on his coffin as he was an allotment holder for years.

You knew Fred inside out and backwards and your arrangements will be a fitting tribute to him I'm sure.

Sorry about your dad Sharon
He certainly went out on his own terms and I am sure he will always bring a smile to your face when you think of him
Things will get tough in a few weeks because you have been so busy with him for so long you will be at a loose end
And of course your dad is your dad no matter how old you or they are
Cheers to you Fred
We have a regular beer o'clock for my father so we will put another handle out for you mate

Sharron - what a fitting tribute you are arranging for Fred, have you made allowance for a pineapple, and how about - I've been a wild rover for many's a year ;-)

Like many one here, I have never met Fred, however when I was reading the many tributes that have been paid to Fred on here, I shed more than a few tears, to be honest I felt like I had lost a good friend - thank you so much for sharing his life and antics with us.

Sending my warmest thoughts to you, your OH, and Fred's mate <3 <3 <3

His mate, who, at one time, would barely talk to anybody he was so shy, has said he would be honoured to walk in with the coffin.

As for me being at a loose end, I think I will be expected to look for work.

Sharron if you need to look for work take time to decide what you would really enjoy doing and try and find something in that field. But do leave it a few weeks to get your breath back first.

A message from Rambling rose.

I wonder if you would be kind enough to send Sharron my condolences on losing her dad, also that I think her ideas for the funeral are wonderful.

It all sounds marvellous Sharron.

Custom made for Fred.

I am sure that all his family and friends will appreciate it too.

A great way to share treasured memories (and cuttings) while celebrating his life.

Take a little time out for yourself too Sharron.
