Hello Kay....
Tried that, but he doesn't have anything, he has his Dairy man, & he has his Tractor driver, plus himself & his son,he did have a job going sorting the spuds which was seasonal (Nov to March) but because the tax credits place said it would take time to sort out the change in her money & it would take time to come up with the childcare costs therefore she would have to come up with the money herself until it was all sorted, money she or we didn't have, so she couldn't do it,
JC no longer take kindly to seasonal work!

Even being able to work around the school times she would still require childcare for school holidays.

Kay????

Kay???? Report 6 Mar 2015 22:04

Couldnt she start a home ironing service?

school holidays wouldnt be a problem then,

if her landlord didnt object to her using the property as a small buisness,

Hello again Kay..........

Oh dear, yes this is yet another she actually tried that but it didn't work out, it's a while ago, 3 people responded, only one took her up on it, & this was when she lived in a big City, it petered out pretty quickly, she's actually very good at ironing so it wasnt because she didn't do a good job, lol.
Unfortunately it's not the kind of thing that can be relied on is it, & not something she can "prove" to authority, wouldn't be easy to get someone like the Tax Credit people to accept!!
She needs a "proper" job, something that has official paperwork!

..
.........I thought I would update this thread with some good news.
OUR DAUGHTER HAS JUST GOT A JOB! woowoo.

She had an interview today at a local family store mainly household items but does have some clothing as well.
Posh / expensive place!

It is a sewing position, making up customers orders for curtains, blinds, pelmits, etc, sewing is something she is very good at & loves making up things so this is just what she was REALLY hoping to find re a job.

It's just 3 days to start with,9-30 to 3-00 Mon Tues & Weds, but with potential to get 5 days,if & when more childcare spaces become available for her.
I have just been chatting to one excited & very happy young mum,we are so pleased for her.

THANKYOU maggie, Gwyn & Ann, it is a relief as later on next year she would have HAD to get a job! & might have ended up doing something she really disliked!
She is just delighted to get the type of job she was hoping for.

Hi Joan

So glad things are looking up for your daughter. I hope the job works out well for her and she will feel the benefit of working without the stress of money problems. She has had too much to cope with since her split with the father of her children, who sounds a useless article.
Best of luck to her and the children

Lizxx

Hope you and o.h. are keeping well

Hello Liz, I hope you are well, thanks for your reply & good wishes.

I hope it works well for her, I think it will, she is really looking forward to starting the job, & the boss is being very helpful letting her ease back into work with the hours she can manage at the moment, it's the childcare that's difficult, she just hasn't got spaces available for daughter to work more hours yet, hopefully by the time grandaughter starts school (August) things like that will be easier to deal with!
In an emegency she can call on me but I'm really not able for "full-time" minding.

AS for the EX!! he's languishing away on benefits, has been re-housed!!! & since splitting up with daughter he's never out of trouble or the Courts, & pays just £5 a week taken from his benefit money to be shared between 3 children!!!!

Hubby & I are quite well thankyou,it was hubbys birthday yesterday, time is marching on, lol, another 2 years & he will be entitled to a FREE tv licence, yippee.
That is of course IF they are still available by then! LOL.

Joan.
