Hello all just thought i would let you know i got lionel squires death cert and it states mrs squire of blavkpool his wife registered the death

trying to see whether Ancestry shows any others but its search function went haywire today ... it seems not

the child likely married in the same place


Lionel died in 1963 in Birmingham where he had lived for some time

but his wife's address as informant was in Blackpool

which suggests they were estranged but she was still legally his wife

it seems likely she died later the same year

Lionel and Catherine seem to have had a daughter, again, search at FreeBMD but spell mother's name O'Keeffe with two Fs ... initial not M though ... and she married in Birmingham


and there is what I meant to check in the first place because I have a good friend named O'KeeFFe :-)

we still have too little information but is this the marriage?

Catherine/Kathleen had one child with her husband and one child with Lionel Swire

... but neither was an M ...


this is rather personal info to be here in the thread I am afraid so I want to edit this post to delete some of it after you have seen and copied it (I would have sent it privately but several others have been helping here so I thought it best to make it available to everyone first and then remove it)

this will give you some names to search trees here and search elsewhere with in any case

however ... there are Murphy-O'Keeffe births in Lancaster that do not seem to match with any other marriage and come between the Birmingham births

One of them is a female M ... I will send what seems to be the 2012 electoral roll listing for that person

... however on second thought I am not confident of that idea, there are many births with those names in that district up to 1946 ...


... but ... the one birth we can be sure of, and I have sent postal address info from freeelectoralroll for that person confirmed by years shown at 192.com


by the way, the James and Kathleen Swire on the earlier electoral roll were really
