Ohh Sylvia, that's even more exciting really, the Cup being such a unique race!

I might even be able to impress my nephews with this gem, as none of them are really interested in my 'hobby' even though it is quiet funny that they all have the same occupations that tend to run through the generations (which they had been unaware of, engineers, teachers, builders and chefs!)

I think the sports gene must have lost out by the time it got to me..if there was a crack on the floor I'd trip, or two steps down and I'd fall lol

Yes, the money they won meant she and her twin sister (with husbands) could take a long service trip back to England about 2 years later ....... first time back since they had emigrated.

They came through Vancouver


I was much younger than them so I was still a child when they emigrated, but OH and I spent a year (1975/76) in Melbourne, and really got to know them.

Even better, from my point of view, was that my aunt and uncle had emigrated to be with their daughters, and my aunt was still alive. Their one and only son stayed in England.



Like you, I can trip over a matchstick! .... and I'm always walking into the door jamb instead of through the doorway!

Porridge, Bear Mush Hot Cereal, Instant Hot Oatmeal with Cranberry & Ginger


In the warmer:-

bacon, turkey sausages, potato pancakes, frittata, mushrooms, black pudding, Maple baked beans, fried bread


Pancakes, Maple syrup, Blueberry Fruit Syrup, Peach Yoghurt


Toast, Danish, croissants, crumpets, cranberry & orange muffins

Jams, jellies, lemon marmalade, marmite, peanut butter

I am so fo#kin sick of this b#oody Inbox problem, it's driving me nuts

I have asked again on the GR FB page......note where I live!

I try not too and request anyone wishing to have a" prifat "chat with me use my email(if you have it)or message me on fb...At least that way I do not start swearing and get even grumpier................Thank you..

Why dont I have inbox probs or error messages?...........do you think I am being favoured?

I had not personally experienced the inbox "Error Message" until yesterday afternoon when it appeared for the first time when I tried to open a PM that someone had sent to me. It took at least a minute for the error message to finally appear and in the interim the "Busy" symbol appeared alongside the cursor arrow on the screen.

I thought that I would open a second window to GR to see whether the same occurred on that when I tried to open the PM. It didn't, the PM opened almost instantly.

It might have been pure luck or that whatever was causing the initial problem of communicating with GR had resolved itself by that time. I have no way of telling which but it is a trick that those who are experiencing the problem may like to try to see if it works for them.

Tried that Jonesey but it still took ages for me to get into my Inbox.....double grrrrrrr.


Today is our granddaughter's 13th birthday so we have been up to see her. So grown up bless her.


Finished my housework - apart from mopping the kitchen floor - but that can wait. Gonna treat meself to playing on here for a bit.

Just been talking to my dad and think my mum is a bit annoyed that an old school friend has tried to contact my sister through FB.

I had to explain how easy it is to find mariages and childrens births especially as my mother did not marry a Smith. My sister has never married either so of course she is easy to find.
Spoke to my sister and she said she mentioned me looking like my mum so I said so she recognised me as one of your friends...oh no she says my FB is all private........Wrong just checked it is not
Phone call to her coming in a minute then

Ok...As look ups were objected too on the GR FB page is it a ploy by a certain person to block those people she feels were against this then she can carry on as she wishes??

Remember that thread where I was reported as abuse....well the lady whos thread it was has just pm'd me thanking me for finding the correct person I have asked her to add to the thread if she does'nt I will and will track him down on FB and rub his nose in it lol
