Back from making like a tourist. Had a lovely day and made a discovery.

Victorian steam trains are a lot more comfortable to travel in than 21 century buses.

Along with the Queenies in garlic butter I have brought along

Queen of Pudding
And Lemon Meringue Pie

Gee Report 1 Jul 2011 16:59

Well I knew I should'nt not have put a photo of myself as a child on these sites if I am going to get recognised :-D

Just been out on the scooter first time this year. There is an old ruined castle near me but I have never seen it so we went looking, nice ride out but unless we went the wrong way it was'nt disabled friendly and could not get close enough.

When we got to the bottom of this road there was a rare breeds centre with some animals in but no one around so we had a look, dont know if you had to pay or not?

It's amazing what you find on your doorstep if you look

FBG,

I hope you remembered to remove the BAA before preparing that Welsh delicacy.

Brilliant Jax pleased you had a lovely day out.

Its great discovering what's on your own doorstep. I've recently cut my hours at work so I no longer work Friday's unless we have staff shortages and I don't want to be stuck doing housework, especially when it sunny outside so we are going to do touristy stuff

I did Jonesey.....And I have just taken some fresh baked rolls out of the oven and got some nice tangy Welsh Cheese to go with it as its a sin not to have bread and cheese with it here..

Which reminds me all of a sudden of that film "The Sin Eater"....

The Sin Eater is a man destined by ancient English religious custom to eat a meal on the coffin of the recently deceased, thereby consuming the sins of the dead and ensuring safe passage to heaven, rather than hell. Soon after the death of Kate's husband, the Sin Eater arrives to consume the dead man's sins, via a plate of really gross-looking English food. Kate is unfamiliar with this custom and meets the Sin Eater privately, convincing him to try consuming the sins of the living, namely her own. He reluctantly agrees and instead of boiled mutton and potatoes, Kate prepares Thai food as the sin transport. The Sin Eater is enchanted both by the delicious food and Kate's "delicious sins". It was a fun story and a well-acted and directed film. I'm sure opportunities to see it will be limited, but it's worth pausing for if you get the chance.

I will have to go down the seafront again its quite nice along the prom...could even make HID walk down the pier. Longest pier in the world I believe even though some of it has been destroyed in the past by fire and I think a ship hit it once too. There is a train if you dont want to walk but I doubt that I could get my scooter on it.

Made it!

I can even provide some entertainment should you wish it!

No, I am not dressing up as The Battery Hen this time...although I know you will be bitterly disappointed but....

for those of you who like Peter Andre...

.... we should be able to hear him singing later tonight. There is a concert going on just behind our house so it seems.

For those of you who are not keen....

I will close the windows.

Glad you had some time out ja...x and hope it's done you good.

Toots - sounds like a good day for you too!

Gins....even I knew about Queen of Pudding....doh.....and I hate cooking!

Fans....for one awful moment I thought you were bringing a caul.......yuk.

Have a few minutes before I have to go back to close the roads etc. so I thought I would check to see if all are behaving ... Gins is in the John up to her gills in gin and here I thought that you were the epitome of genteel. Jonesey is logging on to some dating site and getting weird ??? emails everyone else seems to be behaving although some have reverted back to their childhood perhaps I should come back as a child hmmmmm
