Dea.... pinched this from the Culinary Delights thread.. put up by Greenfingers (Jan)

Tomato and Garlic Chutney

Already made this one and its delicious and quick !! (her words)

Makes about 5 jars

2lb tomatoes, skinned and roughly chopped, 1 large onion chopped small,2 cooking apples about 1 lb peeled and chopped small,2 red peppers, cored,de-seeded and diced, 3 oz sultanas, 700 ml malt vinegar, 8oz gran sugar,2 mild chillies, de-seeded and chopped fine (dont use if you hate chillies, although I have to say they are not in your face
6 garlic cloves finely chopped, 1 cinnamon stick halved so the flavour comes out, 1/2 tsp allspice

Mix altogether, stir until sugar dissolved, and cook till thick and pulpy, pour into warm jars

Gee Report 9 Oct 2011 06:47

I'll go with the thanksgiving dinner Syl..all of it except the dead stuff.

Ja...x thanksgiving is a bit like our harvest festival. It's a celebration at the end of a crop

One in Oc for Canada early caus is colder and one in Nov in US later caus it warmer

We dont have labor day either (to thank/celebrate/ all the workers in the US BUT....we have far more bank holidays!

Morning alllllllll................

jax

jax Report 9 Oct 2011 07:02

Oh right :-)

Not being American at all, I had one daughter born 4th July and was hoping the other was born 5th Nov (our wedding anniversary) but she was due American thanksgiving...but came a week early :-(

Dont worry about bank holidays now just another day, and even when I was working I always had Mondays off
