What a messy lot you are to be sure!!


Dea, I have absolutely no idea to be honest. I rarely shop in Liverpool and it's usually the cathedral where I park. I looked at the parking facilities in the centre and have decided to go by train....... Sorry dearest Dea.

Are there any car parks where you can book a space??? It may be worth another google.


It will be lovely to meet everyone but I feel sorry for those who aren't able to go and want them to know that we will be thinking about them. <3


Quite a good day today.......but, how is it, then when I have some vouchers to spend, I can't see anything I really like......and YET, when I don't have any, I always see lots of things i like. :-S :-S

Hi everyone

it seems that life might be settling down ................. a little bit anyway!!


I haven't managed to read back. Could someone update me on anything I have missed that is very important??


Our friend whose husband died in April is coming to stay for 1 night on Tuesday ............ then there is nothing on the calendar until Sept 29, when daughter and grandson arrive for a week.

I MIGHT get time to spend on here!


In addition to all the other things that have been going on ............ like visitors, holidays, etc ................... I've been going to the doctor's every 2 or 3 weeks. They want to replace one of my bp pills with another one, and that has to be done gradually.


I'm also having problems sleeping .................... the docs are checking that one out as well!

I seem to have a very low grade bladder infection (cystitis), which keeps flaring up. I can drink lots of water and get it under control, but then it returns if I cut back on the water. Nothing obvious is showing ................ but it means I have frequent trips during the night. A right old nuisance that is!! It does make me very tired!

We had a big thunderstorm on Thursday night, just as I was getting ready for bed. The storm was pretty close to here ............. one clap and flash seemed almost overhead!

The rain poured down, and we had a stream rushing down the street outside!

I think something like 40 mm of rain fell from Thursday lunch to Friday lunch

Now the sun and warm temperatures are back.

Summer ends for all Canadians and Americans on Monday ............. that's Labour Day. The next day, all schools, unis, etc, open, and summer is "over".

Sounds like you need a good rest after all that travelling around <3 <3

Can't park at the Hotel Linds as I have decided (well, I think I have decided) not to stay overnight but to travel back the same day!

I wouldn't be up to going out in the evening and it takes me so long to 'sort myself out' in the mornings that I think I would be better coming home. ;-) :-(

I will still get there to see you all though. :-D

I had better go and start some breakfast.........................

Nice to see you Sylvs :-) Cystitis is horrid, I've had a couple of bouts over the years :-|

Cranberry juice, water and those drinks you can buy from the chemist help. Sometimes the doc might prescribe antibiotics

Speaking of peeing, August gets a marshmallow (not the big ones, little ones used in baking) if he pees in the toilet before his bath as he is not to wee in the bath. Trouble is sometimes he gets his marshmallow and does a double whammy one before and one in bath after eating the marshmallow.

After he had his bath the other night, I asked him if it was okay for Nana to use the toilet. He asked me if I was going for a wee. Yes, and when I came out of the bathroom my son-in-law handed me a marshmallow.

Quite like this reward system.

OH speeded up enough to go you-know-where and has been reasonably okay for the day. We sometimes get days like this which is why I can't plan much in advance sometimes. :-(

Hi all

a slob day today :-D

Gins ............. this is not full blown cystitis because I can get relief in a couple of hours, but it keeps coming back. Which is why I think I have a "pernanent" low-grade infection.

I drink 2 glasses of cranberry juice a day and lots of water, normally.

The problem now is that I have to keep getting up in the middle of the night. I do go back to sleep very quickly (which is not usual for me) ........... but some nights, I've been sleeping only an hour at a time, most of the time it has been every 2 hours.

They won't give antibiotics willy-nilly ...................... so will have to wait and see what culturing shows up.


I'm quite jealous of you all :-P

It's grey and chilly here today but with the promise of very hot weather in the next 2-3 days..........must think of anything 'big' which may need washing and drying :-D :-D :-D

Fairy cakes (made and decorated by my grandchildren - I DID make them wash their hands first ;-) :-D :-D )

Pancakes - served with sugar and lemon, fresh fruits and cream, chocolate sauce, or any other filling you might like......

When we were on holiday we did a day trip visited several villages in the mountains.

We stopped for a break and got to taste home made jams, marmalades and warm olive bread :-D

I brought home some fig jam lovely :-D
