Good morning all :-)

Thanks for the lovely breakfast Linda <3 I was actually here quite early but got carried away reading through a thread which was over 30 pages long. It was quite fascinating, though I did skip through several pages in the middle so that I could see what happened at the end ;-) :-D

I am certainly ready for that breakfast !

See you all later,

Well, it is now 4 o'clock on 4/4 and we are all thinking of our special friend.

We send our love and very best wishes to all his family and friends who will be saying their final farewells to him today.

The number of this post is '48884' which is a palindromic number so I have reserved it especially for 'our Jonesey'. <3

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Safe journey Jonesey - you are much missed. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Cheesey omelettes this morning - with or without bacon and mushrooms.

Plenty of toast and various speads,

Croissants and Danish Pastries.

I have put some porridge on too as it is quite cold this morning,

Fresh fruits and a selection of yoghurts

Help yourselves please.......

Have been and had a 'quick' look Cynths - It is really lovely !

What are the tiles made of - they look quite 'textured' - are they vynil type or the solid fired type?

At last the heating is working :-D

We had to turn off the heating and open a window last night :-D :-D

Yesterday they were due to turn up at 1pm half an hour later I phoned the boss.

As we were on the phone her son walked in (should have been at me) he had to return a hire machine so would be about 2 hours :-|

At 3.45pm he still hadn't arrived. Another call to the boss which went to voice mail.

I then phoned him twice once from my mobile and once from the house phone (number is withheld so he wouldn't know it was me) both times his mobile went to voicemail :-|

I then called the boss from the house phone she answered (she is renovating her Mums house and had been outside talking to the electrician for 20mins) :-(

By this time I was so angry I let rip. I told her if he didn't show she could get the money I owed her from his wages as I wouldn't be paying.

(I know I would have to pay for work done)

She replied "good luck with that" (I think she meant getting him to pay)

I told her I wouldn't need luck as he had broken our contract by continually not turning up and not completing the job.

Surprise, surprise 15 minutes later he was at my door.

I open the door and he says "Hi Linda how are you" :-P :-|

Lets just say I left him in no doubt how I was.

When he gets under the floor finds a wall blocking his way. Long story short I had to get my son to come to get bricks removed to let him get to radiator.

At one point I had the two of them under the floor I was threatening to trap them there. His Mum told me to nail the trapdoor shut :-D

He eventually left at 6.45pm. Now OH thinks there might be a leak somewhere as he had to pet water into the system today. :-|

We will keep an eye on it and see.

So yes it was a b****y awful day yesterday and I still have to get the bill :-(

Dea Report 5 Apr 2014 13:51

Oh dear Linds - I don't expect you will be having any more work done by them, even if they are (were) sort of friends of the family ;-) :-0 :-(

I hope it is working well now and without leaks (Just one thought, you shouldn't have to 'put' water into the heating system as it should have an automatic feed from a tank somewhere to put water in when needed - Have you not got one of these??)

Poor Linds

If it's a combi boiler it will need topping if there is a leak

Sat in hair salon waiting for hair to be cut

Dea

Dea Report 5 Apr 2014 16:50

Oooerrrhh - I don 't do 'Combi boilers' as I wouldn't have an airing cupboard then !!

Do you really have to top up that type manually Ginns ??

Gee Report 5 Apr 2014 16:58

Dea

Your water pressure shouldn't drop, it's usually a sign of a leak somewhere in the system. It can drop if you need to bleed the rads, that's normal

The boiler has a light letting you know the water pressure, if it drops, it flashes and beeps at you. There is a small tap under the boiler that you turn to top it up

If the pressure drops to a very low level, it has an auto shut off and will not work until you top it up

I wouldn't be without my combi.......hot water on tap 24/7 and no need to heat a tank up and waste money

Dea

Dea Report 5 Apr 2014 18:05

I would never get one Ginns - Unlike you !!

I REALLY LIKE my airing cupboard and would not be without it !!!

My son (the Plumbing and Heating Engineer) thinks they are the best things since sliced bread BUT I won't let my airing cupboard go !!!!!

Glad you liked my floor Dea.....it's vinyl and so much softer and quieter than the ceramic tiles which I inherited. Not sure OH is madly impressed but......???

I love my combi boiler....i haven't had an airing cupboard for 10 years..If my ironing is slightly damp, I just pop it on the radiator for a short while and the bedding is kept in a drawer under the bed. You soon learn to adapt Dea. :-D

Had a shopping day today......bought a new fireside rug for the dining room and spent most of my M & S vouchers - some of which I have had almost 12 months
:-)

Nearly bedtime for me.........night everyone.....~~~~~
