I am still looking for a whole pair of grandson's Linds from about 6 weeks ago - Goodness knows where 'one of them' must have hidden them 'just before going home time' ;-) :-D :-D

It's amazing how tired you get when you have had the grandchildren for the day isn't it ?

Ey Up~~~~~~~~~

I see you all had a quiet day!

Socks have a life of their own................

Linda

Linda Report 1 May 2014 19:13

Lost socks are one of my pet hates.

I have made the rule that when they are put in the laundry basket they have to be matched up. I separate them when putting into machine.

Got the M&S meal deal tonight. Steaks and chips yummy.

Ha....me too Linds

The boys had to hatch them together for the wash basket

It was No2 sons idea, he got fed up of missing socks!

Morning...... :-D

If you don't mind Gins, I'll pass on the eggs - I have to be in the mood for them :-D

I'm going to toast a couple of tea cakes instead......I left them out of the freezer by accident, so it's a case of 'waste not, want not'. ;-)

"Quiet day?" "Quiet day?".................oh yes, of course we've all had a quiet day....... :-0 :-| :-S :-0 but that was only in our imaginations Gins. ;-)

Right...off to get organised......

Linda

Linda Report 2 May 2014 13:09

Just having a short break from housework :-)

Nothing else to do till we are on babysitting duties at 6pm :-)

Hopefully will get some time to relax later.

Dea

Dea Report 2 May 2014 14:22

We are excused grandchildren duties for the whole of next week Linds - Monday is a band holiday and Thursday both children have other entries in their diaries - Both have been invited to friend's houses ;-) :-D

Those are the days when we usually have them and they are already booked elsewhere for Tuesday and Wednesday so we will have a nice break !

I am sure that we will pop over to see them at some stage though 'coz we will miss them :-D

We picked them up from school yesterday and little 5 year old grandson was all smiles as he has been chosen to be 'Class Rep' and he showed me his VERY posh shiny dark blue and gold enamel badge.

The trouble was he had to tug at it to show me and there were already 2 quite large pin holes from the badge in his school shirt. - Goodness knows what state his clothes will be in by the end of term :-D

Apparently his role is to speak to any visitors (inspectors, head teacher, governor etc etc.) who come into his class - show them around and tell them exactly what the children have been learning and what they are all doing. - This will suit him to the ground. (I remember his teacher at Nursery when he was about 3 telling me that he had eplained to her nicely that she had used the wrong blue for the ocean when painting them a picture of the planet earth. - It should have been a lighter blue like the sky! - She had to admit, with a chuckle that he had been correct!).

As they progress through the school the role of the Class Rep also begins to incorporate collecting ideas and opinions from classmates and presenting them for discussion at meetings they will attend with the teachers, Head and some of the Governors. Some of those suggestions and ideas may then be implimented within the school.

I know that this sort of thing goes on in secondary schools but it is so nice that in 'their' primary school they are prepared very well for when they have to move on. They do many things there which promote confidence in the children which will stand them in good stead as they get older. The majority of these involve ALL the children and not just a few so everyone benefits.

Good morning all :-)

Breakfast is cooking - bacon, eggs, sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms and LOADS of fried bread for 'you know who'.

Plenty of toast, crumpets, freshly baked rolls and crackers with various spreads available.

Croissants and danish pastries, fresh fruits.

Enjoy.....

Good morning and thank you for the fried bread Dea........you spoil me <3

Don't worry about the eggs Gins.......I made up for it with the teacakes... :-D

That's a lovely idea re your grandson Dea. I am sure he will make a good job of it, I mean, he has a great example in you to follow hasn't he.... :-D

I spent yesterday afternoon at our late friend's widow's new home, and cleaned all of her bedroom carpets. Got myself wet through in the process of course.. :-D

Going back there shortly to see how else I can help.

Be good....

Mornin all~~~~~~~~

Ive been hiding in the background waiting for breakfast ;-)

Thank you Dea :-D

Cyns, you are a good friend <3

Linda

Linda Report 3 May 2014 14:32

We were round at son and d-I-l's for breakfast :-D

They asked us and her brother and partner with their new baby boy.

tiny baby = cuddles = gorgeous.

Lovely to hold a tiny baby.

OH at football I am going to do some FT stuff.

Not sure if we are going out tonight for dinner or not. It's our 39th anniversary.

Cynthia how is your friend doing?

Dea

Dea Report 3 May 2014 14:52

Happy Anniversary Linds - you kept that quiet ;-) :-D :-D

Yes Ginns - Cynths is indeed a VERY lovely friend - I just wish she lived nearer to me ;-)

Linds - I don't think my grandson would make a very good PM - he is a very sweet and loving child and has a great deal of confidence (probably too much in many respects) - he can be very sensitive at times and he is absolutely full of mischief !! - He often tries to lie but the look on his face betrays him at once so 'Politician quality' he is not !!! ;-) :-D :-D

Mornin all~~~~~~~~~~~

Bacon butties are at the ready

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 4 May 2014 08:39

Morning all.... :-D

Thank you for the bacon butties Gins and belated happy anniversary to Linds.

Did some tidying up in the garden for my friend yesterday. The move is next week and I have promised to be on hand when I can.

It's a dire situation for her to be in. As a clergy widow, she has lost not only her husband, but her home and her church family. The home goes with the job and it has been her home for 14 years now.

There is also an 'unwritten rule' within the church that, when a clergyman retires or dies in office, the family move away to allow a new incumbent the space to build up his own ministry.

Whilst I can understand the sentiment behind this, the actual reality for many of these families is pain and suffering as they have to pull up roots and leave what may have been their life for many years, behind them.

Such is life.......... but I will be there to support where I can.

Off to you-know-where shortly...... :-)
