Thank you for your kind words

Dally will probably comment now that we are trying to get her to come on these boards for our own gains now lol

I have used ancestry and FMP pages on FB and actually helped a couple of people..one even subscribed to FMP after I found her ancestors army records....its the Dally's of this world that get me

it was perfectly clear what you wrote

I've come across Phyllis before, on one of the boards

She has had a medical problem in the last year or so ..... and has difficulty retaining information

it seems that thigns have to be spelled out very carefully for her

could have been a stroke, but don't know for certain sure.

I think she just got overloaded on fb ....... though I'm not sure what link she was talking about that got her on there in the first place!

Well she has apologised now so I have carried on trying to help her, hopefully I have not said anything she will take the wrong way this time.

It does'nt help when other people delete their comments which I can still see but I believe its gorn??

No if she is a full member here why has someone told her to go to FB for help?

Hi Ginny,

I have just read your heading about posting questions about the same person/family twice but, as it was 2006 since I posted the last query and still haven't got anywhere, I thought that perhaps there might be some new people on Genes now who would not have seen my original query, so I wanted to ask a slightly different question about the same person. so will I be able to do that? If I can't post something on Genes that I want to find out about, perhaps I should join a mailing list?

Oops! Sorry Ginny, I should have "signed off" - it was from Jean

Jean

Ginny is not saying you shouldn't post on Genes

.................. that advice is really aimed at people who post 2, 3 or 4 threads at the same time! One on each of the Community boards Tips, Records Office, or Trying to Find ....... they think that there are different people giving advice on each thread, and hope to get more information. In reality, all of us helpers look on all the boards!

In fact, it is quite possibly better for you to pull up your old thread ................. that way, we can see what has already been found, and don't repeat the work that was donne back then.

Change the title to add the word Update ( or Help Still Needed). Then add what else you want to know as a new post.

In case you don't know how to find that old thread, click on My Thread participation in the box headed Tools at the left of your screen.

I'll also send a pm to you with htis, in case you don't come back on here!

THANK YOU Cynthia - I was just wondering how I was going to make it across - I couldn't do the little boat thing on my own on the water but could do it if you came over for me and I closed my eyes !!

I was looking for a bridge as I can just about manage those if I take deep breaths and look straight ahead in front of me as I cross.

Dea Report 16 Feb 2011 10:56

Oh dear - I seem to have 'missed the boat' !!!

Are you still waiting too LK, or did you manage to get there earlier?

I have 2 sandwiches left if you would like one - only 'ham + philly dilly' I am afraid but you are welcome to share!!

Then, I think I will go home to have a sulk and then cook me a big lunch !!!

OOOerr !! - Just had a thought............

This is NOT like Cynthia, and she did offer to come back for us, even though she was quite 'worn out'.........

I hope she didn't capsize and she is clinging to a branch somewhere down river????

Perhaps we had better go and search for her !!!!!!!!!
